Curve to Host Inaugural Holiday Bazaar on Dec. 1

Opening of Curve Holiday Store and Curve, Pa. Christmas Tree Lighting highlight event
November 6, 2012
Note: All vendor spots for the Inaugural Holiday Bazaar have been filled up. Thank you for your interest in being a vendor at our Inaugural Bazaar!

CURVE, Pa. - The Altoona Curve will host their Inaugural Holiday Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 1 in the enclosed upper concourse at Peoples Natural Gas Field to help jump start the holiday season in the area.  Area residents who attend the free inaugural Bazaar will find a variety of different holiday items for sale from vendors around the community as well as the opening of the Curve Holiday Store, which will be located inside Peoples Natural Gas Field this holiday season.

Patrons will be treated to a number of other activities at the Inaugural Bazaar including the lighting of the first-ever Curve, Pa. Christmas Tree, which will be placed inside the ticket plaza gates and tower over the main entrance to the ballpark.  The tree, which will stand approximately 25 feet in height, will not only be decorated with lights but also with ornaments created by children who stop by the Ornament Decorating station during the Bazaar.  Once an ornament has been completed, it will be hung on the tree for all to see.

For those that need to pick up a tree of their own, the Eldorado Kiwanis Club will have Christmas Trees on hand for people to buy the day of the event.

Also making an appearance in grand style will be Steamer Claus, who will be on hand for free photos with area youth throughout the event on the 1st.  Patrons will also want to make their way down to the ballpark early to see just how Steamer Claus will descend upon the Inaugural Bazaar.

The annual Curve Holiday Store will also open its doors, officially, for the first time on December 1st with plenty of new Curve gear for the super fan on your holiday list.  The store will be stocked with t-shirts, sweatshirts, jackets, on-field apparel and even some merchandise for the upcoming Pirates-Curve Exhibition Game on March 30, 2013.

Visitors to the Bazaar are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy for the U.S. Marine Corps. Toys for Tots Drive or a non-perishable food item for the food drive to benefit St. Vincent de Paul Society Soup Kitchen.  Patrons that donate will receive one ticket for our Pick-A-Prize Auction, which will take place during the Bazaar.  Tickets for the Pick-A-Prize auction can also be purchased for $1 during the event, with the ticket sales going to the St. Vincent de Paul Society Soup Kitchen.
