Dash unveil expanded broadcast slate

Will televise 12 regular-season games; air 19 on radio
April 4, 2013

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The Winston-Salem Dash have expanded their broadcast schedule for the 2013 season, giving fans plenty of opportunities to follow the team when they are unable to make it out to the games or when the team is on the road.

For the second straight year, the Dash will partner with WXLV ABC 45 and WMYV My 48 to televise 12 of the club's home games at BB&T Ballpark. In addition, the Dash return to local radio with 19 play-by-play broadcasts on 600 AM WSJS, which can be heard throughout Winston-Salem and many surrounding communities.

The television broadcast schedule includes all 10 Saturday home games live at 7 p.m. as well as the home opener (April 12) and the Fourth of July game on a one-hour tape delay. "Voice of the Dash," Brian Boesch, will be joined by a rotating panel of color commentators to bring fans all of the action.

WSJS will broadcast all 19 Thursday games, both home and away, during the 2013 season. The first broadcast is scheduled for Thu, April 11, when the Dash travel to Frederick. The radio broadcasts on WSJS will also include 15-minute pregame and postgame shows. Boesch and Rob Low will provide the play-by-play.

"The opportunity to have these local stations carry our games is tremendous for our organization," Dash team president Geoff Lassiter said. "These broadcasts give our fans the chance to catch us when they can't make it to the ballpark, while also potentially exposing us to new fans who regularly watch or listen to these stations."

The team will also continue to broadcast all 140 games live online through the team's website. Fans can access those broadcasts at www.wsdash.com/broadcast. In addition, an online video stream of all 70 home games and selected away games will be available through a subscription to MiLB.tv.

The Dash's 2013 regular season begins Friday night on the road against the Carolina Mudcats in Zebulon, N.C. One week later, the club opens up its home slate with a 7 p.m. date against the Mudcats.
