Glendale 6, Peoria 3
Both teams struck early, but it was Glendale that came through in the end thanks to a three-run seventh frame. Peoria jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the second, thanks to a bases-loaded walk by Jose Caballero (Mariners) and a two-run single from top Padres prospect Jackson Merrill. It didn’t take long for Glendale to respond. Second-ranked Reds prospect Noelvi Marte, who reached base three times in the contest, clubbed a two-run dinger in the bottom of the frame to put the Desert Dogs within a run. Two innings later, Alex Isola (Twins) clubbed the equalizing home run, and the score remained knotted until Austin Martin (Twins No. 12) broke the ice with an RBI single in the seventh for Glendale. Dodgers No. 5 prospect Andy Pages extended the lead to three runs with a two-run double. Gameday »
