Andy Rayburn, owner of the Daytona Cubs, purchased the team in 2001 following his tenure as owner of the Hagerstown (MD) Suns of the South Atlantic League. Over the last decade the Cubs have doubled their yearly attendance, overseen a major renovation to historic Jackie Robinson Ballpark in 2005 and been recognized for many area and national awards, including Baseball America's Organization of the Year in 2006 for Single-A.

Ranking at or near the League lead in attendance every year since 2004, the Cubs have become a fixture in the Daytona Beach region for affordable family entertainment. As a proud partner of the Chicago Cubs, Daytona has won Florida State League Championships in '96, 2000, '04 and '08, while currently boasting the best record in all of professional baseball in 2011.
