Dominican Summer All-Stars revealed

Willoughby, Guerra, Rojas honored by league

San Francisco Giants prospect Carlos Willoughby was named Player of the Year on Wednesday as the Dominican Summer League announced its 2009 All-Star selections.

Twins All-Star Pedro Guerra and fellow right-hander Randol Rojas, a Texas Rangers prospect, were named Pitchers of the Year.

The switch-hitting Willoughby, a second baseman, is batting .327 with a homer, 43 RBIs and 46 stolen bases for the Giants' DSL club. Guerra is 7-0 and leads the league with an 0.38 ERA in 71 innings for the Twins' affiliate.

The team includes a pair of Texas Rangers prospects, Miguel De Los Santos and Rojas, while Rangers 2 manager Jayce Tingler was named Manager of the Year.

The Yankees had two players selected, first baseman Reymond Nunez and outfielder Kelvin Duran.

Pirates third baseman Eric Avila was selected to the team after leading the league with 84 hits.
