Drillers tie club record with six homers
Matthew Macri, Jud Thigpen, Joseph Koshansky, Troy Tulowitzki, Christian Colonel and Chris Iannetta all went deep as Tulsa hit six home runs in a game for the second time this season. On May 2, Seth Smith and Tulowitzki each homered twice to highlight the Drillers' 10-8 win over Midland.
Tulsa's 17 runs and 22 hits were season highs. Every player in the starting lineup hit safely and scored for the Drillers (26-20), while all but center fielder Jordan Czarniecki drove in a run. Tulowitzki and Smith led the charge with four hits apiece, and Koshansky, Macri and Thigpen all drove in three runs.
The Missions (17-26) collected 10 hits, but left 10 men on base and went 2-for-12 with runners in scoring position. Ismael Castro doubled and scored in the first inning, while Justin Ruchti contributed an RBI single in the fourth when San Antonio cut the lead to 9-2.
Ubaldo Jimenez (4-2) earned the win, allowing two runs on seven hits over five innings. The 22-year-old right-hander walked three and struck out five. Alberto Arias tossed three shutout frames before Jim Miller came on to pitch a scoreless ninth.
Ryan Feierabend (1-4) suffered the loss, surrendering nine runs on nine hits over three innings. The 21-year-old gave up four homers after yielding four over his previous eight starts on the season.
Justin Jordan struggled in his Double-A debut. The 24-year-old -- who went 2-2 over seven starts in the California League -- yielded five runs on 10 hits over 4 1/3 innings. Mike Flannery allowed three eighth-inning runs.
