Ems Host Season Ticket Holders for a BBQ Thanksgiving

November 16, 2012

After another great season of Emeralds Baseball in which the squad finished with the best record in the Northwest League, the Emeralds front office staff got together with the club's biggest supporters just in time for the long holiday season. Enjoying a Thanksgiving feast from Hole in the Wall BBQ complete with potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce and hand-carved turkey, fans got an opportunity to meet some of the staff members who remain behind the scenes on gameday.

Following the exhilarating 2012 highlight reel, each full-time staff member gave the crowd a full bio and an anecdote about how they wound up working for a Larry McPhail Award winning Northwest League baseball team.

Just as the pumpkin pie was being served, Emeralds GM Allan Benavides had a special surprise up his sleeve. Allan presented a behind the scenes look at the process of creating the new logo which is set to be unveiled at the Logo Release Party hosted by Ninkasi Brewing* Tuesday, November 27 at 5:30pm.

Season ticket holders were given a glimpse at some of the early concepts that wound up on the cutting room floor. A visit from Sluggo prompted the raffle drawing for game worn jerseys, and the evening wound up with a Q&A session that spanned topics such as national anthem singers, day games and Grateful Dead Night. It was by any account a Eugene Emeralds night.

*272 Van Buren Street in Eugene. If by some chance you haven't heard: first 100 fans will receive a free pint glass with Ninkasi logo on one side and the new Ems logo on the other!
