Enright, Linton Receive Monthly Awards

June 9, 2010
MOBILE, Ala. - On Thursday, the Arizona Diamondbacks named their organizational players and pitchers of the month for May with starter Barry Enright rewarded as the top pitcher in the entire organization while Ollie Linton was honored as the BayBears' top player of the month.

Enright made five starts in May and never lost as he went 3-0 with a 2.36 ERA. He started the month on a strong note against the Carolina Mudcats with seven scoreless innings on May 3 at Hank Aaron Stadium while he only allowed two hits and struck out seven.

Enright, in his second season with the BayBears, also tossed a complete game against the Chattanooga Lookouts on May 19 in Mobile while punching out a season-high eight batters. Enright closed May with another impactful performance against the Braves as he struck out seven in seven solid innings.

Linton batted an even .400 for the BayBears in May while sporting a ridiculous .478 on-base percentage. Linton picked up a base hit in 19 of the 25 contests that he played in during May including three three-hit games.

After going 0-for-4 on May 2, Linton was hitting .234 but closed the month with a .336 average that was among the league leaders. Linton has also been spectacular in the BayBears' outfield alongside Evan Frey and Collin Cowgill, who are both center fielders as is Linton.

The BayBears take on the Barons in game four of their five-game set on Tuesday night at Hank Aaron Stadium with a 7:05 first pitch.
