Eugene to Host 2014 All-Star Games

October 30, 2012

The Eugene Emeralds have announced that PK Park will play host to the 2014 Northwest League All-Star Game. The league is reinstating the midsummer classic in 2013 with the inaugural game hosted by the Everett Aquasox August 6. The game will match the newly aligned North and South divisions with Eugene, Salem, Hillsboro and Boise comprising the visiting squad taking on Vancouver, Tri-City, Spokane and host Everett.

The event will be hosted by each of the league's clubs on an eight-year rotation. The game will be part of a three day All-Star week with planning for events such as a fanfest and home run derby already underway. This year's event will be just the second All-Star game in league history following the 2004 contest which commemorated 50 years of Northwest League baseball.

The Eugene Emeralds were one of the original six in the Northwest League back in the inaugural 1955 season. "The Emeralds are excited to bring this event to Lane County. We are hoping to bring a truly Eugene experience to the festivities and look forward to showing off our great city." Allan Benavides.

Ticket and hotel packages will be made available as dates get set for the 2013 season.
