Foursome joins Loons for new season

MIDLAND, Mich. - The Great Lakes Loons are pleased to announce the hires of four new full-time, year-round employees who will join the team for the 2013 season: Amanda Colmus, Trent Elliott, Steve Livingston and Nick Wolcott.

Amanda Colmus will be the Catering Coordinator for the Great Lakes Loons in 2013. In this role, she is responsible for ensuring and maintaining great customer service to the Suite Level patrons, including food service during Loons games in all suites. Colmus had 14 years of food service experience before she joined the Loons in 2010 as a full-time seasonal employee. In the past three seasons, she has worked on the concourse and suite level at Dow Diamond as well as at special events before being promoted to her current role as Catering Coordinator.

Trent Elliott begins the 2013 season as the Production Coordinator for the Loons. He will manage the live in-game video and audio production. Elliott started working with the Loons as an intern in 2007, the team's inaugural season, and has been a part of the Loons game day staff since 2008 while finishing his Bachelor's Degree. In 2009, he began directing the closed circuit broadcast of Loons games. The Saginaw native graduated from Eastern Michigan in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Electronic Media & Film Studies.

Steve Livingston joins the Loons for the 2013 season as the Communications Manager. He will help manage the Loons internal and external communications, including overseeing all aspects of the Loons media communications. During the season, Steve will support the media with their game-day needs and double as the team's beat writer for Loons.com. In the offseason, his focus will shift to serving Dow Diamond and the Michigan Baseball Foundation, while also covering local sports for ESPN 100.9-FM and ESPN1009.com. The native of Whitmore Lake, Mich., has a B.A. in Communication from Spring Arbor University and a M.A. in Sport Administration from Central Michigan University.

Nick Wolcott transitions into a full-time, year-round position for the 2013 season as the Head Groundskeeper after spending 2012 as the Supervisor of Grounds. He will supervise all aspects of the maintenance of the playing surface and all other landscape areas, including grass berms, parking lots and stadium entries, as well as the Founder's Garden. The Saginaw, Mich., native got his start in turf management at Apple Mountain Golf Course and worked as a grounds crew member at Theunissen Stadium at Central Michigan University. He was also an intern with the Philadelphia Phillies in 2011. Wolcott has an associate's degree in Business Administration from Mid-Michigan Community College and a certificate from Michigan State in Sports Turf Management.
