April 22, 2008
Sean Gallagher was brilliant, striking out 12, as the Iowa Cubs defeated the Oklahoma RedHawks 5-1 Tuesday afternoon at Principal Park.

Gallagher picked up his second win allowing just one run in 7.2 innings of work.

Eric Patterson led off Iowa's offense with a single in the first inning and was driven in on an RBI fielders choice groundout by Jake Fox. The Cubs upped their lead 3-0 in the second inning when Luis Figueroa hit a solo home run and Corey Coles scored on a RedHawk error.

A fifth-inning single by Andres Torres extended his hit streak to nine games. Tony Richie doubled in the eighth inning, driving in a run for the 5-1 final. Bobby Scales was 2-for-4 with a home run in the win.

Patterson left the game in the second inning with soreness in his right hamstring after running to second base.

Oklahoma's starter Elizardo Ramirez took the loss, allowing four runs on nine hits in 5.2 innings.
