Generals announce Championship Series details
Generals begin Championship Series play on Tuesday at Pringles Park
JACKSON, TENN. (SEPTEMBER 9, 2012) - The Generals have advanced to the 2012 Southern League Championship Series for the first time since 2005 and will take on the Mobile BayBears. The Generals will host games one and two of the Championship Series Tuesday and Wednesday at Pringles Park, with game times each night set for 6:05 p.m. CT. The Generals would like to celebrate this historic season by offering free admission to each of the games at Pringles Park. Free admission is a thank you to all the fans of Jackson and West Tennessee who have helped make Pringles Park the place to be in 2012.
Games three, four (if necessary) and five (if necessary) will be played at Hank Aaron Stadium in Mobile, Ala Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The series is identical to the North Division Series and is best of five. The Generals last won a Southern League Championship in 2000 and are appearing the Championship Series for the fourth time in franchise history. (1999, 2000, 2005, 2012). This is the first time that Jackson has won a North Division title as an affiliate of the Seattle Mariners. The affiliation began in 2006. Mobile is looking for their second consecutive Southern League title.
Championship Series Schedule
The Generals will continue the Whiffle Ball Challenge following each Championship Series game. All fans who bring their own whiffle ball to the park and write their name on it will be allowed to throw their ball at a target on the field for a change to win cash The Generals will have a Cash Prize of 10% of the attendance of each post-season game with a guarantee of at least $100 and up to $600 with a sell-out.
