RICHMOND, VA - The Flying Squirrels continue their week-long unveiling of the team's 2012 promotional calendar with the announcement of 28 giveaway nights for fans during the course of the 2012 season. The first fan giveaway is slated for April 14th, as Budweiser presents the Flying Squirrels' 2011 Western Division Champions Fleece Blanket Giveaway to the first 2,500 fans 21 & Older.

Highlighting the 2012 slate of giveaway items is a live pony that one lucky fan will take home following Princess Night on July 21st. The pony will be provided by Broken Road Farms. Once again in 2012, the Flying Squirrels will give away a Gently Used Car on August 1st.

"Fans have responded to our giveaways in a big way, so we have dramatically beefed up our giveaway schedule for 2012," said Flying Squirrels Vice President and COO Todd "Parney" Parnell. "From the traditional to the outlandish, you're going to take it home from the ballpark this year."

Coca-Cola and the Flying Squirrels will team up for the three-part Mascot Baseball Series. The series will include giveaway dates of May 12th (Mascot Baseball #1- Zinger - presented by Coca-Cola), June 15th (Mascot Baseball #2 - Parker - presented by Coke Zero) and August 10th (Mascot Baseball #3- Nutzy - presented by Diet Coke). All three baseballs will be given away to the first 2,500 fans 14 & Under through the Diamond gates.

The Flying Squirrels will keep the focus on the kids in 2012 with eight Sunday giveaways for their Kroger Squirrel Tails Kids Club members. Each Squirrel Tail giveaway will be received by the first 2,000 kids 14 & Under at Sunday home games. Included among the kids giveaways for 2012 are; Kid's Batting Gloves (4/15) presented by HCA Virginia, a Squirrels Cape (4/29) presented by Tyson ® Any'tizers ® Snacks, a Replica Squirrels' Jersey (5/27) presented by Tyson ® Any'tizers ® Snacks, a Replica Squirrels' Hat (6/3) presented by HCA Virginia, Wristbands (6/24) presented by HCA Virginia, a Little League Bat Bag (7/8), a Wooden Baseball Bat (8/12) and a Batting Helmet (9/2).

Also included among the 2012 giveaway items is the three-part Kitchen Series. All three giveaways will be taken home by the first 2,000 fans 15 or older with First Capital Bank kicking off the series with Travel Coffee Mugs on May 1st. Fans will also receive Parker Egg Timers on July 20th and Nutzy & Zinger Salt & Pepper Shakers on August 20th.

Bobbleheads are back in 2012 with a flair as the Flying Squirrels partner with HCA Virginia for a pair of Bobblehead Giveaways. Parney Bobbleheads will be handed out on June 16th, and on July 31st, as the Flying Squirrels celebrate Goochland Night, reigning American League MVP and Cy Young winner Justin Verlander Bobbleheads will be distributed. Second-year Flying Squirrels' manager Dave Machemer will take on gnome-form for the Dave Machemer Gnome Giveaway on August 28th.
