Grizzlies Open Packed Homestand Tuesday

FRESNO, CA - The Fresno Grizzlies, the hottest team in the Pacific Coast League, return to Chukchansi Park on Tuesday, May 12th to open an action-packed eight-game homestand, both on and off the field. Mad Tight 90's Night Featuring Dennis "Mr. Belding" Haskins, Ag Night, a Drag Kings Calendar giveaway, Parker's birthday, and the first 2009 meeting between Fresno and the Dodgers' Triple-A affiliate highlight the homestand.

Winners of four straight and nine of their last 12 games, the Grizzlies return to Downtown Fresno on Tuesday, May 12th to take on the Round Rock Express, Triple-A affiliate of the Houston Astros. May 12th is an "All You Can Eat Tuesday" presented by Mega 97.9. Grizzlies fans can get a ticket to the game, and enjoy all the hot dogs, nachos, popcorn, soda, and water they can handle until 8:30pm for just $15.

Game 2 of the series between the Grizzlies and Express, the first meeting between the two teams at Chukchansi Park since 2007, is on Way Back Wednesday, May 13th, presented by the Fresno Bee. Kids under the age of 12, seniors over the age of 55, and active military personnel with ID can get a ticket to the game for just $2.

Thirsty Thursday, May 14th presented by Tecate, is Mad Tight 90's Night Featuring Dennis "Mr. Belding" Haskins. The signature theme night, heir to Ballpark Digest's 2008 Promotion of the Year "Totally Rad 80's Night Featuring Billy Zabka", will be a tribute to all that people loved about the 90's. Haskins, the beloved principal of Bayside High on Saved By The Bell, will throw out a first pitch and sign autographs and take pictures with fans, and The Drag Kings will have a special 90's-themed performance after the 5th inning. Fans are encouraged to dress in their dopest 90's fashions.

Thirsty Thursday means that when the gates open at 6:05pm, fans can take advantage of 12oz Tecate and Tecate Light beers for just $1 until the end of the 5th inning, and $1 sodas all night long. New for 2009 is the opportunity to purchase a 20oz. beer for just $2.

On Friday, May 15th the Grizzlies will celebrate the premier farming community in the nation, as the second annual Ag Night takes over downtown Fresno. Ag Night, presented by Bayer CropScience, will celebrate both the rich agricultural history of the Valley, and the overwhelming productivity of the industry of the region today. By itself, Fresno County's agricultural output outpaces 24 of the 50 states. The theme night will extend onto the playing field as the Grizzlies will wear special Ag Night theme jerseys that will be auctioned off live following the contest to benefit San Joaquin Region FFA & 4-H.

Friday's at Chukchansi Park also mean orange rally cards for fans, presented by Rally's, and Friday Night Fireworks, presented by BayerCropScience, CBS47 and KISS Country that will light up the sky over Downtown Fresno after the game.

On Saturday, May 16th the most intense in-state rivalry in Major League Baseball comes to the Triple-A level at Chukchansi Park when the Grizzlies welcome the Albuquerque Isotopes, top farm club of the Los Angeles Dodgers. The first 2,500 fans into the ballpark will receive a 2009 Drag Kings Calendar, so they can enjoy Minor League Baseball's premier, infield-dragging dance crew all year long! Of course, the Drag Kings will be performing following the 5th inning on their special night.

Come to Chukchansi Park on SaveMart Sunday, May 17th, to say happy birthday to the greatest mascot in Minor League Baseball! Sunday is Parker's Birthday, and he will be celebrating at the ballpark with all his mascot friends. Come early to take advantage of the Future Giants Autograph Session on the concourse before the game, and stay late so that the kids can run the bases thanks to Del Taco.

The Grizzlies and Isotopes continue the Giants/Dodgers rivalry on Monday, May 18th. Like all Monday's at Chukchansi Park, this means the best sports entertainment value in Minor League Baseball, Monday Madness presented by ABC30.
