Haiti Relief Drive Set for April 21

January 18, 2010
VISALIA-In response to this week's tragic and catastrophic earthquake in Haiti, the Visalia Rawhide announced today that their game on Wednesday, April 21st, will be named a "Haiti Relief Drive" evening.

Between now and April 21st, all monies raised from designated ticket sales for the game will be donated to UNICEF's relief fund. This includes all single-game, group, and walk-up tickets purchased.

Additionally, the Rawhide plan to collect additional donations of material goods at the gate prior to the game. Additional details of the collection drive will be announced at a later date as Haiti's specific needs become clearer.

"Along with the rest of the world, we realize the magnitude of the relief effort ahead for Haiti," Rawhide President Tom Seidler said. "We are eager to contribute our small part to that effort."

UNICEF has been designated by Major and Minor League Baseball as their preferred fund for concerned teams and fans to channel their donations. The Rawhide strongly encourage their fans to make additional contributions at www.unicef.org.
