Hillcats, 105.5 FM partners again

KD Country will carry each Lynchburg game in 2012
March 15, 2012
The Lynchburg Hillcats announced that all 140 regular-season games plus any necessary playoff games will, once again, be broadcast live on 105.5 FM KD Country. Each game will also be streamed live on lynchburg-hillcats.com, kdcountry.com, and milb.com.

KD Country has served as the flagship station for Hillcats radio broadcasts since the 2003 season. Every broadcast will begin with the Hillcats On-Deck Show powered by Honda/Suzuki of Lynchburg, airing 20-25 minutes prior to the scheduled first pitch. This will include interviews with players and coaches, a recap and highlights from the previous contest, a look around the Carolina League scoreboard, and a preview of upcoming game. The Jerry's Bagels Post-Game Show will follow each game. It will consist of a game recap, scoreboard report and a preview of the next scheduled game.

Hillcats general manager, Paul Sunwall said, "We are very pleased to announce that KD Country will continue to carry all Hillcats broadcasts. This season will be our 10th consecutive partnering with KD Country, and I think that speaks very highly of the partnership we've shared and presence they've given us in the community over the past decade."

KD Country is a 6,000-watt FM station located in Altavista, Va. On the air since 1969, current owners Dave and Elizabeth Hoehne bought the station in 1992. They also own the sister AM station of KD Country, WKDE AM 1000.

The season begins Friday, April 6 at Lynchburg City Stadium when the Hillcats host the Potomac Nationals at 6:05pm. The broadcast will begin at 5:40pm with the Hillcats On-Deck Show powered by Honda/Suzuki of Lynchburg. Erik Wilson returns for his second season as the "Voice of the Hillcats" with Mike Viso joining the broadcast team for his first season inside the Hillcats' booth.
