Fireworks, Zooperstars! and Bat Bag Giveaway On Deck

RICHMOND, Va. - The Flying Squirrels will open a promotion-packed six-game home stand at The Diamond against the Binghamton Mets and the Reading Phillies beginning Wednesday July 4. The home stand features three straight fireworks nights, including back-to-back Independence Day fireworks on July 4 and July 5, an appearance from the nationally-renowned Zooperstars, a Little League Bat Bag giveaway and a Camp Day matinee ballgame.

Wednesday, July 4th vs. Binghamton

Gates Open: 5:30 PM First Pitch: 6:35 PM

Celebrate Independence Day with two timeless hallmarks of summer, baseball and fireworks. The greatest Independence Day fireworks extravaganza in Richmond will take place immediately following the ballgame courtesy of Verizon Wireless, Heart of Virginia Chevy and Kroger. The Flying Squirrels will wear special patriotic jerseys that will be auctioned off during Richmond's game against Harrisburg on August 8. Additionally, fans can buy Launch-A-Balls for just $1 each and take aim at great prizes. Pre-game live music will be performed by Tough Deal.

Thursday, July 5th vs. Binghamton

Gates Open: 6:00 PM First Pitch: 7:05 PM

The Flying Squirrels continue their Independence Day celebration with another post-game fireworks extravaganza! The fireworks spectacular presented by Verizon Wireless, Heart of Virginia Chevy and Kroger will take place immediately following the ballgame. The Flying Squirrels will wear special patriotic jerseys that will be auctioned off during Richmond's game against Harrisburg on August 8. Additionally, fans can purchase tickets for Uncle Bob's Self Storage raffle for just $1 each and get the chance to win collectibles. Fans will be entertained with live music from the Mike Lucci Band.

Friday, July 6th vs. Binghamton

Gates Open: 6:00 PM First Pitch: 7:05 PM

It's the third straight fireworks night at The Diamond. A post-game fireworks extravaganza presented by Capital Ale House will take place immediately following the finale of the Flying Squirrels' three-game series against the Binghamton Mets. Kids get the chance to run the bases after the game courtesy of McDonald's and Richmond Family Magazine. Additionally, a "Where's Parney?" event featuring Flying Squirrels players and front office staff members will take place following the ballgame at Dave & Buster's in Short Pump. Classic Monkey Shine will set the mood with live pre-game music.

Saturday, July 7th vs. Reading

Gates Open: 5:00 PM First Pitch: 6:35 PM

The Zooperstars, a nationally-renowned troupe of inflatable characters, will make their lone appearance in Richmond at The Diamond courtesy of Xbox Kinect. Harry Canary, Ken Giraffey Jr., LeBronco James and numerous others will entertain fans throughout the ballgame. Kids get the chance to run the bases after the game courtesy of McDonald's and Richmond Family Magazine. Additionally, fans can purchase Launch-A-Balls for $1 each and take aim at some great prizes. Pre-game music will be provided by the Hit List.

Sunday, July 8th vs. Reading

Gates Open: 3:30 PM First Pitch: 5:05 PM

It's another Kroger Squirrel Tails Kids Club giveaway. The first 2,000 kids ages 14 and under will receive a Flying Squirrels Little League Bat Bag courtesy of Westchester Commons. Fans will have the opportunity to play catch on the field from 4:15 PM to 4:35 PM courtesy of Nesquik and Radio Disney. Additionally, kids get the chance to run the bases after the game courtesy of McDonald's and Richmond Family Magazine. Fans will be entertained with live music from the Brian C. Band.

Monday, July 9th vs. Reading

Gates Open: 11:00 AM First Pitch: 12:05 PM

It's Camp Day presented by Tyson ® Any'Tizers ® Snacks with camps from throughout Central Virginia spending an afternoon at The Diamond. There will be numerous water games for kids to participate in and a Coca-Cola mist machine will be operating throughout the afternoon. It's also McDonald's Monday and fans can purchase two tickets for the price of one by presenting a McDonald's receipt at the Flying Squirrels box office. The Justin Trawick Band will perform live prior to the ballgame.

Fans can test their aim and attempt to win a number of prizes with Launch-A-Ball following each game of the series.
