April 20, 2010
Jared Hughes' previous two outings of the season were solid. On Tuesday, he was dominant.

Hughes didn't allow a hit over five innings en route to his third win for Altoona, Dustin Molleken gave up two hits over three frames and Danny Moskos fanned three in the ninth as the Curve shut out the host Aeros, 2-0.

Hughes struck out three and walked four. The 6-foot-7 right-hander has allowed three runs on 12 hits with 14 strikeouts and a 1.09 WHIP over 15 2/3 innings this season.

The 2006 fourth-round pick has held opposing hitters to a .125 batting average with runners in scoring position.

Hughes had a 1-6 record and a 3.88 ERA after being called up to Double-A Altoona from the Gulf Coast League last season. He allowed just one home run over 52 1/3 innings.

Molleken struck out three batters over three innings, while 2009 first-rounder Moskos issued a walk before striking out the side for his second save. Through 5 2/3 innings this season, Moskos hasn't yielded a run on three hits while striking out four.

This season, Altoona (8-3) has a 2.57 team ERA while yielding an Eastern League-low 33 walks.
