Isotopes, Sounds in town for 8

Friday fireworks, Saturday concert part of weekend festivities
April 19, 2010
Thirsty Thursday, Fireworks Friday and a postgame concert on Saturday highlight this weekend's activities as the New Orleans Zephyrs play their first eight-game homestand of the season, welcoming the Albuquerque Isotopes and Nashville Sounds to Zephyr Field.

The homestand kicks off Tuesday night with the first of four games against division rival Albuquerque. Wednesday marks the return of Weenie Wednesday, with dollar hot dogs all night long. The next night is Thirsty Thursday and Greek Night, so bring your fraternity or sorority out for a night at the ballpark. The series with the Isotopes concludes in a groovy way on Friday when we celebrate 60's Night, featuring the decade's biggest hit music and a postgame fireworks extravaganza. All four games against the Isotopes begin at 7 pm.

Saturday is Family Faith Night, when the Zephyrs face Nashville at 6 pm. The night concludes with a postgame concert from Ayerlon. Sunday afternoon's 2 pm start is Kids Day, with a free kids meal voucher for the first 500 children, and a chance for kids to run the bases on the field after the game.

The Zephyrs are currently 6-5 and tied for second place in the PCL's American Southern Division. The Z's have won five of seven meetings with division rival Round Rock, including three of four in the season-opening series at Zephyr Field last week.
