CHARLESTON, SC- The Charleston RiverDogs return home to Riley Park for a five-game homestand from Friday, Aug. 6 to Tuesday, Aug. 10. It's New York! New York! in the Holy City as the R'Dogs are set to host their SAL Southern Division rivals the Savannah Sand Gnats, the Single-A affiliate of the New York Mets. Fans of the Big Apple's Subway Series are in for a treat as the future stars of the Yankees and Mets duke it out on the diamond.

 

The homestand gets the weekend started off right with another Force Protection Red Shirt Friday, featuring Piggly Wiggly post-game fireworks and Fritos Family Fun, also it's the Post and Couriers Charleston Baseball Hall of Fame night, with all four finalists in this year's class getting enshrined prior to the game. The wonderful weekend doesn't stop there as its Heroes Night at the ballpark with a comic book giveaway presented by MUSC HERO on Saturday and Sunday Southeast Dairy presents Dairy Day, with plenty of milking and mooing all game long.

 

Extend the weekend with another Hair of the Dog Monday and Dogs with a Cause Night. Score a touchdown this Tuesday as the homestand closes out with Bi-Lo Two for Tuesday and Football night. Whether you root for the Tigers, Bulldogs or Gamecocks, all RiverDogs fans are invited to close out the homestand Tuesday with football night.

 

Friday, August 6

Force Protection Red Shirt Friday/ Post and Courier Charleston Baseball Hall of Fame Night/ Fritos Family Friday/ Piggly Wiggly Post-Game Fireworks

The homestand starts off with a BOOM, literally, with as it's another Force Protection Red Shirt Friday featuring Piggly Wiggly post-game fireworks. All those who wear a red shirt to the ballpark receive $1 off the walk-up ticket price and can show their appreciation for our men and women of the armed forces by donating that dollar to the families of those fighting overseas. Following the game the fiery pig's head returns to the right field wall to give fans the biggest fireworks display in the city.

It's our third and final Fritos Family Friday. Six lucky fans will get to take their Be Your Own Fan! experience beyond the bleachers with: ceremonial first pitch, PA announcer for half an inning, radio broadcaster for half an inning, play ball kid, drag the field with the grounds crew at the top of the 6th inning and assist Charlie T. RiverDog during the singing of the National Anthem. Fans also get 10 percent off all RiverDogs merchandise when they bring an empty Fritos bag to the park.

Fans of all things baseball and Americas Pastime should get extra excited as the Post and Courier presented Charleston Baseball Hall of Fame Night. Help us give a round of applause for this year's inductees as we enshrine the four legends prior the first pitch.

Kia Country of Charleston Saturday Night/ Heroes Night/ Comic Book Giveaway

Kia Country of Charleston continues the weekend with another big Saturday night at the ballpark. Fans of free stuff should get to The Joe early as the first 1,000 fans through the turnstiles are set to receive a free RiverDogs comic book, thanks to MUSC HERO. Don't forget to hang around after the game as well because all kids in attendance are invited to show off their wheels and run the bases.

The MUSC HERO Campaign will be at the ballpark as well. The special program raises awareness of the importance of research and shows appreciation for those who volunteer for studies. Come out Saturday night and help MUSC and the RiverDogs be fan of these men and women whose help and impact in the community often goes unnoticed.

Sunday, August 8

Charleston County Parks & Recreation Commission Family Sunday/ Southeast Dairy presents Dairy Day/ Principal Financial Group Family Fun Fest

Family, fun and fandom all come together to make this a Sunday Funday. From 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. outside the front gates it's Principal Financial Groups Family Fun Fest, featuring inflatables and even an appearance from Charlie T. RiverDog and a couple of the RiverDogs players themselves.

This Sunday go from Be Your Own Fan! to Be Your Own Family! thanks to Charleston County Parks & Recreation Commissions Family Sunday. Every Sunday fans get up close and personal with the team, with family catch on the field and Reading with the RiverDogs prior to the game. It's a bovine day of baseball with Southeast Dairy's Dairy Day. They'll be plenty of milking and mooing all afternoon long with cows out at the fan fest, ice cream at the gates and even a cow milking contest prior to the game!

Dogs with a Cause Night featuring Goodwill Industries of Lower SC/ Law Enforcement Night/ 98X Hair of the Dog Monday

Keep the weekend kicking with 98X Hair of the Dog Monday. Every Monday, 98X and the RiverDogs invite fans to be a weekend warrior for one more day with $1 beers in the Ashley View Pub and $1.50 mini hot dogs.

This Monday, let's not forget everyone's favorite team off the field, our local law enforcement. Help us salute the team that keeps our community safe with Law Enforcement Night at The Joe. We're adding Goodwill Industries of Lower SC to the RiverDogs' lineup as well. Every Monday it's Dogs with a Cause Night at the ballpark and the club teams up with a local nonprofit. Goodwill helps people achieve their full potential through the dignity and power of work by offering job training, career coaching and other employment programs and services. Helping the work force in the Lowcountry is something we can all be fans of.

Dogs with a Cause Night featuring Goodwill Industries of Lower SC/ Law Enforcement Night/ Hair of the Dog Monday are all presented by 98X and The Bridge at 105.5 FM.

This Tuesday let BYOF stand for Be Your Own Fan! and Bring Your Own Friend! with BI-LO Two for Tuesday, fans can double their fun when they present their BI-LO Bonus Card at the box office window the day of the game and purchase two tickets for the price of one (valid on general admission, upper reserve and lower reserve).

Make it a double with Kraft Singles Tuesday Night Tickets and Be Your Own Fan with a friend. Buy one ticket and get one free when you present your Kraft Singles wrapper at the RiverDogs box office.

While all fans at The Joe are always ready for some baseball, this Tuesday we're asking fans, "Are you ready for some football?!" with Football Night this Tuesday. Don't just cheer on the RiverDogs but be a fan of your favorite football team as well and receive 2-for-1 admission when you wear a football jersey to Tuesday's game. Show us what you got with our special football combine as you sack the GM and take on RiverDogs general manager Dave Echols in a punt, pass, kick and tackle competition. Fans are encouraged to wear purple or garnet as Clemson vs. USC comes to Riley Park when we determine who has the best fans in the Palmetto State with special Clemson and Carolina cheering sections.
