Loewen Replaces Bowman at EL All Star Game

July 7, 2010

The Harrisburg Senators, Double-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals, and the Eastern League announced today that outfielder Adam Loewen will be taking the roster spot of teammate Shawn Bowman on the Eastern Division, Eastern League All-Star team.

The move ensures that New Hampshire will remain the league-leader in number of representatives at the Eastern League All-Star Game with six on July 14 in Harrisburg.  Loewen will join fellow Fisher Cat outfielders Darin Mastroianni and Eric Thames, pitchers Trystan Magnuson and Kyle Drabek, as well as catcher Brian Jeroloman.

Other All-Star roster moves recently announced are as follows.  For the Eastern Division RHP Josh Schmidt (Trenton) is taking the place of teammate RHP Lance Pendleton, who is attending, but is unable to pitch.  Also RHP Drew Naylor (Reading) is now on the team over Michael Schwimmer (Reading), who has been promoted to AAA. Bowman is injured, and will neither play nor attend the game.

For the Western Division RHP Paolo Espino (Akron) has been added, taking the place of RHP Bryce Stowell (Akron) who has been promoted to AAA Columbus.  RHP Clayton Tanner (Richmond) has been added, taking the place of RHP Daryl Maday (Richmond) who has been promoted to AAA Fresno.

Tickets to the 2010 Eastern League All-Star game presented by Ollie's Bargain Outlet are available for purchase by calling the Senators box office at (717) 231-4444, visiting the Senators Web site, www.senatorsbaseball.com, or in person at the box office at Metro Bank Park from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.

The Fisher Cats continue their road trip Wednesday with the third of four games against the Portland Sea Dogs, Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox.  Fisher Cats Pre-Game begins at 6:40 p.m. on the WGIR Fisher Cats Radio Network with Bob Lipman.

The Fisher Cats return to Manchester to open a four-game series against the Binghamton Mets on Thursday, July 15.  An Atlas Fireworks Show follows the game.  The Portland Sea Dogs will also be playing at Merchantsauto.com Stadium from July 19-21.  For tickets, visit www.nhfishercats.com or call (603) 641-2005.
