January 15, 2013
VIERA, Fla. -- The Brevard County Manatees announced the remainder of their front office staff for the 2013 season, which will be the 20th season of Manatees baseball.

Josh Bates comes to the Manatees from just outside of Columbus, Ohio, and will be the team's community relations/marketing assistant. He is a graduate of the University of Toledo and worked for the Atlanta Braves the past four seasons in a game day capacity as a promotions supervisor.

"What a perfect place to get a career started in this industry," Bates said. "Beautiful weather, great colleagues and a growing area to get fans excited for the season. I am looking forward to a great run in 2013."

Bryan Franz is from Jacksonville, Fla., and is currently a senior at Saint Leo University. He will be Brevard County's merchandise coordinator. Bryan previously worked with the Florida Collegiate Summer League, the Jacksonville Suns and the Gator Bowl Association.

"I had several other offers that I turned down in hopes for this job," Franz said. "Working for the Manatees will be a key point in my career, and I am excited to work with such a professional organization."

Andy Houk hails from Spokane, Wash., and is a graduate of Washington State University. He will be the Manatees' guest services representative, and it is his first job in baseball.

"I am very excited to get started turning my passion for baseball into a vocation," Houk said. "I want to make sure all of our fans enjoy their experience at every game as much as I do."

John Manzoian comes to Brevard from Columbus, Ohio, and is a graduate of Ohio State University. He will be the Manatees' box office assistant. John previously worked with the Mahoning Valley Scrappers of the New York-Penn League and the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets.

"I am looking forward to Opening Day and kicking off an exciting season in sunny Florida," Manzoian said.

Kevin Marlow is a Brevard County native from Cocoa, Fla., and because of that he takes pride in representing the Manatees as the team's stadium operations representative. Kevin is a graduate of Florida State University and this will be his first job in baseball.

"I relish the opportunity to work for the Brevard County Manatees," Marlow said. "As stadium operations representative, I am committed to presenting our fans with a stadium that they want to come back to, time and time again."

Dave Walkovic joins the Manatees from Philadelphia, Pa., and is a graduate of Penn State University. Walkovic will be known as the "voice of the Manatees" as he will be the radio broadcaster for 84 of Brevard County's games live on ManateesBaseball.com online. He previously worked for another Florida State League team, the Daytona Cubs.

"I am extremely excited to join the Brevard County Manatees, an organization with such a rich history in the Florida State League," Walkovic said. "I look forward to broadcasting an exciting 20th season of Brevard County Manatees baseball."
