Marauders unveil team's uniform lineup

Look associates team with Pirates, keeps unique identity
February 25, 2010
The Bradenton Marauders, the new Florida State League affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates, unveiled the Club's uniform line-up today during the Pirates Pep Rally in downtown Bradenton. The uniforms will incorporate the unique Marauders logo and letter script, while the colors will mirror the Pittsburgh Pirates' black and gold.

The uniform line-up for the Marauders inaugural season includes:
- White uniforms that will be worn for games played at McKechnie Field. These white uniforms with black and gold piping will feature the "Marauders" team name across the chest of the sleeved jersey, as well as the Marauders logo on the cap. As part of the Bradenton Marauders inaugural season celebration, the home jerseys will also feature a commemorative patch on the sleeve.
- Gray uniforms that will be worn on all Marauders road games. These gray uniforms with black and gold piping will feature "Bradenton" across the chest of the sleeved jersey and a uniquely styled "B" logo on the cap.
- Batting practice jerseys that will be worn during home and road batting practice, as well as during select games throughout the year. The black jerseys will feature the Marauders logo on the left chest, along with yellow and red accents along the sides.

In addition, the Marauders also unveiled an alternate gold cap that will have a black bill and the uniquely styled "B" logo on the cap representing the City of Bradenton. The gold cap is reminiscent of the one worn by the Pirates of the early 1970's.

"Much like the team name, we wanted the uniforms to be closely associated with the Pirates brand, but we also wanted the team to have its own unique identity," said Pittsburgh Pirates President Frank Coonelly. "The black and gold will forever be associated with the Pittsburgh Pirates organization, while the unique name, logo and font give the Marauders their very own identity."
