Mets Defeat Jupiter 2-1 in Game 2

Alonzo Harris hit a two-out,go-ahead RBI single to left to score T.J. Rivera in the seventh and the Mets defeated the Jupiter Hammerheads 2-1 to stave off elimination in Game 2 of the Florida State League South Division Championship Series on Wednesday at Digital Domain Park.

The Mets will host the Hammerheads at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday in the deciding game of the best-of-three series.

Adam Kolarek struck out Marcell Ozuna looking with runners at first and second in the ninth to close the game.

Jacob DeGrom tossed six scoreless innings while allowing just four hits. He struck out five and walked two.

Jeff Walters surrendered an RBI double to Terrence Dayleg with one out in the seventh as the Hammerheads tied the score.

T.J. Chism retired Christian Yelich in the seventh on a groundout and John Church came in relief and retired Marcell Ozuna with a runner at third to end the Jupiter threat.

Kolarek pitched two scoreless innings in relief to earn the save. Richard Lucas ripped an RBI double in the first to plate Danny Muno to give the Mets an early 1-0 lead. Lucas finished 2-for-4 with an RBI and Darrell Ceciliani also had two hits.

Chase Huchingson will be on the mound for the Mets on Thursday at Digital Domain Park at 6:30 p.m. Robert Morey is the scheduled starter for the Hammerheads. The winner of game three will advance to the Florida State League Championship to play the Lakeland Flying Tigers.
