Nick Evans hit a three-run homer and Mike Carp and Caleb Stewart blasted solo shots as the Mets defeated the visiting Altoona Curve, 5-2. Salvador Aguilar improved to 8-1 after allowing two runs on nine hits over 6 2/3 innings. Box

St. Lucie Mets (Florida State League)
Matt Smith hit a three-run homer and Victor Mendez and Josh Thole had three hits apiece to lead the Mets to a 9-3 victory over the visiting Sarasota Reds in the first game of a doubleheader. Box

Smith and Jordan Abruzzo homered and Dylan Owen allowed a run on six hits over five frames as St. Lucie completed the sweep with a 4-1 win over Sarasota in the nightcap. Box

Nick Carr took a no-hitter into the eighth inning before allowing two runs on one hit over a career-high 7 1/3 frames, but the Sand Gnats dropped a 3-2, 10-inning decision to the visiting Columbus Catfish. Carr joined Angel Calero as the second Savannah starter to take a no-hitter into the eighth this season. Box
