Midwest League unveils All-Star logo
"I think this is a wonderful logo with the way it incorporates so many distinguishing marks of the River Bandits," said team owner Dave Heller. "The All-Star Game is a special event that we won't see in the Quad Cities again for another 20 years, so we wanted to create a logo that captures the excitement of this game and highlights the great features of the friendliest ballpark in America, Modern Woodmen Park."
The 2011 All-Star Game logo accentuates some of the signature features that are associated with the River Bandits. The distinguishable outside façade of Modern Woodmen Park appears in the forefront with the scenic Centennial Bridge spanning the backdrop. The logo is a vertical mark with several vibrant colors associated with the River Bandits and Modern Woodmen Park logos. Those include gold, red, black, blue, and shades of tan and gray. The concept of the vertical design was developed from the logo for the 2007 Major League All-Star Game at AT&T Park in San Francisco, Calif.
The logo was designed by Francis Santiquilani of FS Design. Santiquilani also designed the new River Bandits logos in 2007. Other projects he has completed include the logos for the NBA's Orlando Magic and Cleveland Cavaliers. The all-star logo will be used on all printed materials for the 2011 season as well as several merchandise items including hats, t-shirts and novelty items. All officially licensed 2011 Midwest League All-Star Game merchandise can be found in the River Bandits team store at Modern Woodmen Park or online at RiverBandits.com.
"Francis did a great job on this logo and we look forward to using it for the upcoming season," said River Bandits general manager Kirk Goodman. "We are very proud to have a logo that has a different feel than many other minor league all-star game logos and captures the essence of the River Bandits and Modern Woodmen Park."
