MiLB renews agreement with Musco

Official Sponsor will increase charitable activities
September 25, 2012
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Minor League Baseball™ announced today that it has renewed its sponsorship agreement with Musco Lighting through 2014. As an Official Sponsor of Minor League Baseball, Musco Lighting is the presenting sponsor of the annual Joe Bauman Home Run Award, given at the Baseball Winter Meetings™ Awards Luncheon to the player who leads Minor League Baseball in regular season home runs. In addition to the Joe Bauman Trophy, the winner receives $200 for each homer he hit. Darin Ruf of the Reading Phillies hit 38 home runs to win the award this season.

Musco will continue to serve as a lighting consultant, providing light test results, reports and recommendations regarding new and renovated MiLB™ facilities.

"Since 2009, Musco Lighting has been providing our clubs with valuable insight and recommendations for them to have or maintain the best possible lighting in their ballparks in a way that is both economically and environmentally friendly," Vice president of business development, Tina Gust, said. "Continuing our relationship with Musco as an Official Sponsor of Minor League Baseball is a testament to how much we value their expertise in sports lighting systems as a resource for our clubs."

"Musco is proud to partner with MiLB Charities, the Baseball Winter Meetings and the Joe Bauman Home Run Award," said Rick Sneed, national accounts sales manager. "As the "Official Lighting Consultant" we are honored to offer assistance to teams around the country regarding maintenance to an existing system or consultation on a desired sports lighting upgrade."

Musco, which is headquartered in Oskaloosa, Iowa, will also be an Official Sponsor of the Baseball Winter Meetings and the Baseball Trade Show™. Their presence at these marquee events centers around the Baseball Winter Meetings Awards Luncheon, at which the Joe Bauman Home Run Award winner will be honored. Musco will also receive recognition in the form of logo placement on banners, signs and projection images, literature distribution and commercial spots.

Under terms of the renewal agreement, Musco will also team up with MiLB Charities on various initiatives throughout the length of it. The first two programs will be a community service project with the Food Bank of Northern Nevada and a silent auction to benefit MiLB Charities, both of which will be held in conjunction with the Minor League Baseball Promotional Seminar in Reno, Nev., Oct. 2-5.
