MiLB, Virginia State begin partnership

Undergrads will be selected for Minor League internships

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Minor League Baseball™ announced today that it is partnering with Virginia State University to provide internship opportunities for students. VSU President Keith Miller signed the agreement with MiLB™ President Pat O'Conner this afternoon on the VSU campus in Petersburg, Va.

Starting in January, three advanced undergraduate students will be selected to spend several months in St. Petersburg, Fla., home of the MiLB offices. They will learn the business of baseball and provide media support services while gaining job experience. Student interns will receive financial support from Minor League Baseball and 12 semester hours of academic credit toward their college degrees at Virginia State University.

The agreement was inked during the seventh annual Leadership Symposium, co-sponsored by VSU's Department of Mass Communications and the Department of Health, Physical Education,Recreation and Dance.
