Missions to Host 75th Texas League All-Star Game 2011 Schedule Announced

SAN ANTONIO - Missions President Burl Yarbrough announced today the 2011 schedule that includes San Antonio as the host of the 75th Texas League All-Star Game on Wednesday June 29th. The game will mark the 10th time for San Antonio to host the event. San Antonio, a charter member of the Texas League in 1888, also hosted the 25th and 50th All-Star games.

The All-Star game, which features the best players of the Texas League's North and South Divisions, has featured numerous future major leaguers and Hall of Fame members over the years such as: Joe Morgan, Mickey Rivers, Joe Carter, Pedro Martinez, Andre Ethier and Elvis Andrus.

"It will be the signature event of the 2011 season at the Wolff", stated Missions President Burl Yarbrough. "Baseball fans in the area will have a chance to see the future stars of baseball all together in one grand event." The All-Star Game festivities will include a pre-game Home Run Derby and a post game fireworks show. The game is scheduled for a 7:05 pm start on Wednesday June 29th.

The Missions 2011 Schedule has the season opening on the road for the second straight season with the Missions starting in Northwest Arkansas on April 7th. The Missions home opener is a week later when Northwest Arkansas comes to town on Thursday April 14th. The Missions will continue with the tradition of all nine Thursday home games of the season as Time Warner Cable Dollar Nights will feature Dollar Hot Dogs, Dollar Popcorn, Dollar Soda and Dollar Beer and continue to entertain fans every Saturday night (11) with Fireworks following the game. The Missions have teamed up again this season with McCombs Ford West to give fans the chance to win up to $1,000 during the Mission Score For Cash events on Friday night games once a month. Last season Missions fans walked away with a total of $13,250.
