Denver - It was announced today that an investment group headed by Colorado Rockies General Partners Dick and Charlie Monfort has completed the purchase of the Casper Ghosts, the Rockies Rookie League affiliate in Casper, Wyoming. The transaction has been approved by the Pioneer League and Minor League Baseball.

"We are very happy to have finalized our purchase of the Casper Ghosts and we look forward to continuing the minor league tradition of exciting and affordable family entertainment," said Dick Monfort. "Our group would like to thank the Pioneer League, Minor League Baseball and the prior ownership group, the Casper Professional Baseball Club, LLC., for working with us to ensure the entire process was thorough and complete."

In addition to the purchase, Tim Ray has been named Executive Director of the Ghosts and will begin his duties in January. Ray has been affiliated with the franchise for many years in a variety of responsibilities including broadcasting and sales. Most recently, Tim has served as Athletics/Activities Manager for the Natrona County School District. Mr. Ray says, "I look forward to continuing my relationship within the Casper community and the State of Wyoming. My family and I are truly excited for this tremendous opportunity."

Chris Maxwell will remain as the Ghosts' General Manager and Phil Choler as the team's Assistant General Manager.

The Pioneer Baseball League is classified as Rookie Advanced and is a short-season league with teams in Idaho, Montana, Utah and Wyoming. Over the course of the season that begins in mid-June, each team plays 76 games in a split schedule.
