Brewers prospect collects three hits en route to Phoenix win

Reigning Southern League MVP Hunter Morris -- Milwaukee's No. 7 prospect -- went 3-for-5, and designated hitter Kyle Jensen (Marlins) collected three hits, two runs and an RBI double as the Desert Dogs topped the first-place Scorpions. Brewers third-rounder Josh Prince went 2-for-4 out of the leadoff spot to lift his average to .441, and starter Zeke Spruill, No. 6 in the Braves' Top 20, worked around three hits and a pair of walks over 3 1/3 scoreless innings. Scottsdale's Joe Panik, the Giants' No. 6 prospect, and Tyler Holt (Indians) each went 2-for-4 in the losing effort. Recap | Gameday box score

Former fourth-round Draft pick Kyle Simon, traded from the Orioles to the Phillies midseason, scattered two hits while striking out three batters over three frames as the Javelinas blanked the Saguaros. San Diego farmhand Jeudy Valdez homered, doubled and plated two runs out of the No. 9 spot, and first baseman Nate Freiman (Padres) added a pair of hits from the No. 7 spot in support of Simon, who bounced back from a rough outing last time out to earn his first victory of the fall. D-backs' No. 19 prospect Chase Anderson, selected in the ninth round of the 2009 Draft, surrendered one hit and one walk while recording five punchouts over four scoreless innings as the Rafters held on to beat the Solar Sox. Carlos Sanchez -- ranked the seventh-best prospect on the White Sox -- plated three for Salt River and fellow Chicago farmhand Andy Wilkins went 3-for-5 with a walk-off homer to lift his average to .414.
