Mudcats announce front office moves

Five additions, three changes shuffle Carolina staff

ZEBULON, N.C. -- The Carolina Mudcats, Class A Advanced affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, are excited to introduce new members of the front office staff for the 2013 season.

Janell Bullock joins the Mudcats this year as director of ticket operations after spending the past two years with the Nashville Sounds. Hailing from Bear Grass, N.C., Bullock begins her 13th season in baseball after previous stints with the Delmarva Shorebirds (Class A, South Atlantic League) and the former Kinston Indians of the Carolina League. Bullock graduated from East Carolina University in 1999.

Gordon Buchanan enters his inaugural season as promotions director. The Nashville, Ind., native graduated from Indiana University with a degree in journalism. Buchanan spent the 2010 season in the short-season (Rookie-level) Pioneer League, and returns to baseball after spending some time in the corporate sales world.

Joel Chavez also returns to the Carolina League after spending summers with the Gwinnett Braves (Triple-A, International League) and Potomac Nationals. Chavez, a 2009 graduate of James Madison University, joins the Mudcats as a member of the Stadium Operations staff.

Jordan Buck and Juan D. Toro begin this season as group sales associates. Buck, originally from Chapel Hill, N.C., comes to Five County Stadium after three seasons with the Gwinnett Braves. She graduated with a degree in sports management from North Carolina State University. Toro joins the staff after spending 2012 as an intern for the Mudcats. He graduated from North Carolina State with a degree in sports management.

Other staff changes for 2013 include Sean Nickelsen moving to director of group sales and marketing. It will mark his fifth year with the Mudcats. Britni Holman was promoted to director of merchandising in her third year with the team, and Lindsey Lynch was named director of community relations.
