Mustangs mourn passing of Bob Forsch
Forsch, 61, is survived by his wife Jan and two daughters, Amy and Kristin.
One of just 28 pitchers to throw multiple Major League no-hitters, Forsch recently finished his third season as the pitching coach for the Billings Mustangs.
Forsch spent most of his 16-year Major League career in a St. Louis Cardinals uniform, where he threw his no-hitters in 1978 and 1983. He and his brother Ken Forsch are the only set of brothers to both pitch official no-hitters.
Overall, Forsch pitched in the Big Leagues from 1974 to 1989 and finished with a record of 168-136 and a career 3.76 ERA. His best year came in 1977 when he compiled a 20-7 record.
He was a member of the Cardinals 1982 World Championship team and also pitched in the 1985 and 1987 World Series. He remains third all-time in Cardinals franchise history in pitching wins.
