International League
Justin Ruggiano, Louisville

Rays farmhand Justin Ruggiano continued a hot season with the Bulls, piling up four extra-base hits in his first four games of the week. On Monday alone, he knocked in a run, scored twice and doubled while going 3-for-5. He homered in back-to-back games on Wednesday and Thursday, and he left the yard again Sunday in the last game before the Triple-A All-Star break. That three-run homer sparked a ninth-inning rally in Norfolk, but Durham fell just short, 5-4.

Pacific Coast League
Pete Bourjos, Salt Lake

Pete Bourjos, who was a Midseason All-Star in the Texas League last year and in the California League the year before that, missed out on a chance to represent the PCL this year thanks to a May slump. He picked it up in June and turned a strong start to July into a torrid tear this week. The Angels prospect combined for three RBIs, a run scored, two triples and five hits over Monday and Tuesday. He followed up a forgettable Wednesday with a three-hit Thursday, and he didn't stop hitting through the weekend. In the first game of Saturday's doubleheader, he toughed out three walks and still managed a single. Tired of the pine on his shoulder, he broke out with a double and another pair of singles in the nightcap. Bourjos also whiffed just four times this week, which he matched with his four bases-on-balls.

Eastern League
Kirk Nieuwenhuis, Binghamton

Kirk Nieuwenhuis, who was twice a Florida State League Player of the Week last year, successfully brought his act to Double-A this season. He enters the week of July 12 with an Eastern League-leading 44 extra-base hits, and his performance over the last seven games has been a shot in the arm to the B-Mets, who won four of those contests. Nieuwenhuis was 4-for-4 with a double and three RBIs on Tuesday, doubled twice during a 3-for-5 Wednesday and homered on Thursday. He was 3-for-7 between Friday and Saturday, and he homered and doubled on Sunday.

Southern League
Willie Cabrera, Mississippi

Braves farmhand Willie Cabrera is having a terrific season with a .335 batting average and .394 on-base percentage, and he capped a strong first half with his first-ever player of the week award. Cabrera hit in every game in which he played last week, and the M-Braves won each of them. The 14th-round pick in 2005 had four separate multiple-RBI games last week, including Tuesday against West Tenn when he had a double and three RBIs. Over the weekend against Birmingham, Cabrera capped his week with a home run and two RBIs on Friday and two doubles, plus another homer and two more RBIs on Sunday.

Texas League
Clint Robinson, Northwest Arkansas

Clint Robinson rides a franchise-record 20-game hitting streak into the new week, and he helped the Naturals win eight in a row before losing on Saturday and Sunday. He doubled on Monday, homered on Tuesday and again on Wednesday. The Royals prospect can't be blamed for the end of the Northwest Arkansas winning streak, either; in losses on Saturday and Sunday, he homered, doubled, knocked in two runs, scored three times and went 3-for-8.

California League
Paul Goldschmidt, Visalia

D-backs prospect Paul Goldschmidt's 18 home runs in the Pioneer League in 2009 tied him for tops in that league (with Midwest League Player of the Week Brian Cavazos-Galvez), and he's second in all of the Minors with 24 homers this season. So, this week's power display was no freak occurrence, but it was still eye-popping. After homering for the second time in as many games on Monday, he had two more longballs on Tuesday. He slapped out three doubles and four singles between Wednesday and Friday, and he reached into his old bag of tricks for the weekend. He homered once on Saturday and again on Sunday, totaling three RBIs and four runs scored over the two games. Goldschmidt was also named Cal League Player of the Week on May 17.

Carolina League
Pedro Florimon, Frederick

After starting the season in the Eastern League and coping with a demotion to the New York-Penn League, O's prospect Pedro Florimon seems to have found a comfortable place to develop in the Carolina League. Florimon doubled twice and tripled to plate two and score twice Monday, and he doubled and singled to collect another RBI and another run scored Tuesday. He closed out the week with his first Class A Advanced home run of the season -- second overall -- and also singled, walked, stole a base and scored twice Sunday.

Florida State League
Rebel Ridling, Daytona

Rebel Ridling, a 2008 late-round pick by the Cubs, has blossomed in pro ball, and he boosted his batting average -- which was already a respectable .270 -- 14 points over this week's seven games. He was 5-for-9 with a home run, three doubles, two runs scored and two RBIs before Wednesday's 0-for-4 outing, though he even managed to knock in a run in that ugly game. He began to put it behind him with an RBI double and a run scored on Thursday, and it was squarely in the past when he homered twice to drive in four on Friday. Over Saturday and Sunday, he was 3-for-7 with a double, an RBI and another run scored.

Midwest League
Brian Cavazos-Galvez, Great Lakes

Dodgers prospect Brian Cavazos-Galvas was hitting consistently in his first full campaign as a pro, but the home runs just weren't coming for him the way they did in the Rookie-level Pioneer League last year -- until this week. In the first game of a Monday doubleheader, Cavazos-Galvas hit his fourth longball of the season. He followed it with his fifth in the nightcap and his sixth on Tuesday. He also doubled three times in Tuesday's game, collecting four RBIs and crossing the plate three times over the course of the evening. From Wednesday to Saturday, he had seven hits -- including a pair of doubles -- an RBI and three runs scored. He ended the week by going yard yet again, more than doubling his season total over the course of the week.

South Atlantic League
J.D. Martinez, Lexington

After two hitless games at the week's beginning, Astros prospect J.D. Martinez swatted two homers, doubled and went 5-for-5 to plate six runs and score three times himself Thursday. On Saturday, he complemented his third homer of the week with a double and a single, and he scored twice that day. He homered yet again on Sunday. Martinez's .358 batting average is more than 30 points ahead of his nearest South Atlantic League competitor, and he's second with 62 RBIs and third with 14 home runs.

New York-Penn League
Nicholas Schwaner, Hudson Valley

Nicholas Schwaner kicked off the week with his second five-RBI game in three days. Schwaner, whom the Rays took in the 30th round of this year's Draft, knocked in the runs with three singles and a double, and he scored twice, pacing the Renegades to a 12-7 victory in State College. He said goodbye to the Spikes with a home run during a 2-for-4 Tuesday. Over a three-game series against Auburn, he had four hits, two runs scored and an RBI. On Sunday, he singled, walked twice and scored two runs in Mahoning Valley.

Northwest League
Tony Thompson, Vancouver

Tony Thompson, a 2010 sixth-rounder in the A's system, had two hits in every game this week, except for his three-hit affair on Sunday. He doubled twice Tuesday, scoring a run in that game. On Thursday, he knocked in two runs, and he had another double and two runs scored on Friday. He scored twice more on Saturday, and he doubled and scored a run in the last game of the week.

Appalachian League
Aderlin Rodriguez, Kingsport

The second consecutive Mets prospects to take Appalachian League honors -- Javier Rodriguez was Player of the Week last week -- Aderlin Rodriguez (no relation) has busted out over his last eight games. Coming into the season, the 18-year-old Dominican had just 17 Gulf Coast League games worth of pro experience under his belt, and on Monday morning he woke up with a .208 batting average through his first 12 Appy League games. He homered for his second time in as many games that night, going 3-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored. He doubled in each of his next three games, and he added two homers to Thursday's game, driving in five runs with five trips to the plate. He doubled twice more, knocking in a run and scoring, on Sunday.

Pioneer League
Rafael Vera, Great Falls

Rafael Vera, who spent May and June with Class A Kannapolis, is likely to soon find himself back there or at a higher level if he keeps hitting the way he has this week. The White Sox prospect homered and walked twice in the first game of a Tuesday doubleheader, and he added a single and a run scored in the second game. Vera ripped an RBI double Wednesday, went 3-for-4 with three runs scored, two RBIs and another double Thursday before homering Friday. He plated two more runs with a well-timed single Sunday.
