Minor League veteran Jeff Frazier struggled with an 0-for-11 run (not counting his 0-for-2 day in the Triple-A All-Star Game on Wednesday) before starting the second half of the season with a take-no-prisoners performance at the plate. The Detroit prospect homered twice to drive in four in his first game after the break, and he missed the cycle by a triple in the next game. On Sunday, he slapped out three more hits and stole a base.

Pacific Coast League
Cole Garner, Colorado Springs

Coming off the disabled list Thursday, Rockies prospect Cole Garner got busy right away. He struck out in his first at-bat back but ripped a two-run double in his next trip to the dish and doubled and came around to score in his third time up. He homered and doubled to collect two more RBIs on Friday, and he tripled, singled, walked three times, stole a base and scored three times in an eventful Saturday. Garner wrapped up the week with another home run and another two-hit game.

Eastern League
Jesus Valdez, Harrisburg

Jesus Valdez appeared to have Double-A pitching all figured out this week. Playing in the Eastern League for his first season, the Nationals prospect exploded for six extra-base hits in five Senators games, and he's boosted his average nearly .015 points since the beginning of the month. He helped Harrisburg to a 5-3 win over Reading on Monday, knocking in a run with a sacrifice fly and plating two more with a double to center field. Coming back from the All-Star break Thursday, Valdez belted two homers to plate six of Harrisburg's nine runs against Altoona. From Friday to Sunday, he scored four times, collected three more RBIs and doubled three times.

Southern League
Robinson Chirinos, Tennessee

Cubs prospect Robinson Chirinos kicked off his week with an RBI single in the Southern League All-Star Game on Monday, and he only got better from there. In the two Thursday at-bats in which Chirinos didn't have a hit, he was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and collected an RBI on a sacrifice fly. He homered, doubled and singled in his other opportunities that day, knocking in five runs before the game was over. He homered in each of his next two games, drawing three walks in Saturday's contest.

Texas League
Steven Hill, Springfield

The Cardinals' Steven Hill homered, singled twice and collected four RBIs over the course of Springfield's doubleheader against Midland on Monday. He homered again Tuesday and also collecting a single that day. After an 0-for-3 outing in Game 1 of Saturday's twinbill, the 2007 Draft product busted out with a six-RBI game in the nightcap, falling a three-bagger short of the cycle. The bottom fell out with an 0-for-4 Sunday, which was the first time this week Hill failed to drive in at least one run in a game.

California League
Charlie Culberson, San Jose

Charlie Culberson stands among Cal League leaders in batting, hits, doubles, slugging percentage, extra-base hits and total bases, and weeks like the one he just put together indicate he's capable of keeping up the hot hitting in the second half of the season. The Giants prospect homered Monday and Wednesday, making it three times in as many games going back to the previous Sunday. He had two RBIs in a four-hit Thursday performance, and over the course of Saturday and Sunday's action, he had seven hits -- including his 14th home run of the year -- to go along with three RBIs and two runs scored.

Carolina League
Tyler Moore, Potomac

Washington prospect Tyler Moore shook off an 0-for-6, three-strikeout skid with an impressive string of extra-base hits this week. He ripped at least one double in each game from Wednesday to Saturday, and he homered in back-to-back games on Thursday and Friday. Friday's longball was a first-inning grand slam, and he added two more doubles later in the P-Nats' 10-inning, 8-7 win against Kinston. He finished that game with five RBIs, and he collected another one with a fourth-inning double Saturday. That two-bagger was his 28th of the year, which ties him for the lead among active Carolina Leaguers.

Florida State League
Rafael Fernandez, St. Lucie

Left-handed outfielder Rafael Fernandez earned a promotion out of the South Atlantic League at the end of June, and he's looked right at home at the Class A Advanced level. The Mets prospect had a chance to cycle during his ninth-inning at-bat Monday, but his hard swing netted him a second round-tripper instead of a three-bagger. He settled for a 4-for-5, three-RBI start to the week. He hit safely in each of his next two games, and he picked up that missing triple in Friday's 3-for-4 performance. Fernandez was 0-for-4 on Saturday, and his Sunday chance to bounce back was rained out.

Midwest League
Jason Hagerty, Fort Wayne

Jason Hagerty, a 2009 fifth-round pick of the Padres, entered the month with a .253 average. After this week, he's hitting .288. He's not only put strong swings on the ball, though; he's also shown a keen eye. He worked at least one walk in every game but one this week, and he got aboard without hitting his way on three times in Monday's game alone. He tripled and singled in that contest, and he doubled, singled, knocked in two runs, walked twice and scored twice Thursday. He homered Friday, and homered and doubled to plate three runs Sunday.

South Atlantic League
Jared Clark, Asheville

Rockies prospect Jared Clark responded to an 0-for-4 start to the week by homering twice and collecting three RBIs in his next game. He went yard in the game after that, and again in the game after that. From Wednesday to Friday, he had five RBIs and five runs scored. Clark showed determination again Sunday, lashing out with a pair of singles after an 0-for-2 game Saturday. His four longballs this week bring his total to 15 on the season, good for a spot on the Sally League leaderboard.

New York-Penn League
Matthew Curry, State College

Matthew Curry homered and doubled during a four-hit, four-RBI game Monday, and the Pirates' 2010 16th-rounder built on that performance by continuing to slap the ball all week. He doubled, scored three runs and knocked in two while going 3-for-3 on Wednesday, and he had another three-hit game Saturday and another Sunday. Curry also posed a threat once he got aboard: he stole a base in both Friday's and Saturday's games.

Northwest League
Richard Jones, Boise

The Cubs sent Richard Jones to Boise after he struggled through the first two months of the season in Peoria, and the Northwest League looks like a happier place for the 22-year-old 2009 Draft pick to develop. He knocked in at least one run in each game from Tuesday to Sunday, putting together three multiple-RBI games over the week. Over the course of two games on Wednesday and Thursday, he had six hits -- including a homer and a pair of doubles -- and collected a stolen base, four RBIs and two runs scored. He was a homer shy of the cycle on Saturday, driving in three runs and twice crossing the plate himself in that game.

Appalachian League
Oswaldo Arcia, Elizabethton

Twins prospect Oswaldo Arcia is off to a torrid start to his first Stateside season beyond the Gulf Coast League, and he earned his second Appalachian League Player of the Week nod this week. The 19-year-old Venezuelan enters the new week leading the circuit with a .385 batting average and 26 RBIs, and his seven homers put him just two shy of the league lead in that category. He went yard on Wednesday, and he had two doubles on Friday and another one in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader. In the nightcap, Arcia tripled, and he tripled and doubled to drive in three runs and scored three times Sunday.

Pioneer League
Leon Landry, Ogden

Leon Landry, the Dodgers' third choice from this year's Draft, had two triples, three singles an RBI and three runs scored over his first two games of the week. In his next game, on Thursday, he homered, doubled and singled, knocking in three runs and scoring three more. On Saturday, he doubled and singled to record his third professional three-RBI game. His .400 batting average and .613 slugging percentage are both third in the Pioneer League.
