Offensive Players of the Week

International League
Valentino Pascucci, Buffalo

Because of the Triple-A All-Star break, Valentino Pascucci only got to play in four games for the Bisons this week -- yet he put up numbers that compare favorably to hitters that played seven. The 6-foot-6 slugger terrorized the Rochester Red Wings with six hits -- five of them for extra bases -- and 10 RBIs while scoring in each of the four games, of which the Bisons won three. He capped the short week with a two-homer, five-RBI performance in Sunday's 13-4 drubbing of the Red Wings.

Pacific Coast League
Brandon Belt, Fresno

The Giants' top prospect, Belt is doing all he can to get back to San Francisco, though the organization wants to make sure he gets consistent playing time. The 23-year-old slugger is batting .333 with a .469 on-base percentage in 42 games with Fresno and had six hits, including a homer and three doubles, in four games this week. Belt and the Grizzlies took three of four games at first-place Sacramento this weekend.

Eastern League
Beau Mills, Akron

Aeros first baseman Beau Mills made a mockery of Eastern League pitching this week. He reached base at least twice and scored in each of his five games this week, had three hits (including a homer) in three of them and drove in a run in four of them. In his third season with Akron, the former first-round pick has bettered his batting average by 63 points, his on-base percentage by 51 points and his slugging percentage by 137 points over last year's numbers.

Southern League
Denis Phipps, Carolina

The 25-year-old Phipps collected at least two hits and drove in a run in five of his seven games this week. On Monday, he homered in both ends of the Mudcats' doubleheader sweep at Huntsville, adding a double and three runs scored. After batting just .228 in 104 Southern League games last season, Phipps leads the Mudcats with a .316 mark this year.

Texas League
J.D. Martinez, Corpus Christi

The Astros' 20th-round pick in the 2009 Draft, Martinez has been a terror at the plate from day one. He was named South Atlantic League Player of the Year last season before jumping two levels to Double-A Corpus Christi. This year he's third in the league in hitting at .341 and leads the Hooks in homers, doubles and walks. This weekend at Frisco, he went 7-for-14 with two homers and six RBIs in four games, capped by a 3-for-5 outing Sunday in which he fell a triple shy of the cycle. Martinez is hitting .444/.563/.852 in 16 games since the All-Star break.

California League
David Flores, Lancaster

The JetHawks had lost 12 straight road games before Thursday's game at High Desert. Flores helped decisively end the skid with a three-homer, seven-RBI performance in a 13-7 win, then came back with a homer, three doubles and four RBIs the next night. The Lancaster infielder drove in 11 runs and scored nine times this week and is batting .359/.412/.654 in 22 games since the All-Star break.

Carolina League
Jared Bolden, Myrtle Beach

After batting .246 with two home runs in the first half of the season, Pelicans first baseman Jared Bolden has been on a tear in July. He had multiple hits in all five of his games this week and drove in a run in four of them. Having hit just two longballs in his first 64 games, he went deep three times this week and had more extra-base hits than strikeouts. After dropping Monday's game at Wilmington, 3-2, Bolden and the Pelicans swept four games against the visiting Salem Red Sox to draw within 1 1/2 games of first-place Kinston.

Florida State League
Evan Crawford, Daytona

Evan Crawford leads the FSL in hitting (.333), is fourth in runs scored (58) and fifth in stolen bases (23). He boosted all those numbers this week, with four multi-hit games. On July 11 alone, Crawford went 4-for-7 with two doubles and three runs as the Cubs swept a doubleheader against the Charlotte Stone Crabs. The speedy center fielder scored at least one run in six of seven games this week -- five of which the Cubs won.

Midwest League
Oscar Taveras, Quad Cities

Taveras has struggled with a hamstring injury suffered the first weekend of the season, but missing three weeks in April and another month from mid-May to mid-June hasn't cooled his bat at all. He has hits in 33 of his 39 games this season, is currently riding a 12-game hitting streak, and would lead all Midwest League hitters by 73 points (he's batting .393) had he the plate appearances to qualify. This week he collected multiple hits in five straight games and helped the River Bandits take over first place after winning five of six.

South Atlantic League
Andrew Clark, Hickory

Crawdads first baseman Andrew Clark doubled his season homer total to eight this week and leads the Sally League with a .427 on-base percentage, thanks to his 52 walks (against 46 strikeouts). This week he went deep three times and plated eight runs in back-to-back games at West Virginia on Tuesday and Wednesday, had two more multi-hit games at Delmarva over the weekend and helped Hickory win five of its six games to take a two-game edge over second-place Kannapolis in the Northern Division.

New York-Penn League
Casey Stevenson, Staten Island

Despite their current three-game losing streak, the Yankees own the NYPL's best record by some margin at 21-7. This week it was Casey Stevenson's turn to power the offense, which leads the league in hitting. The second baseman had four multi-hit games and went a combined 6-for-8 with two homers (his only two longballs of the season), six RBIs and four runs scored in back-to-back games against State College on Wednesday and Thursday. The former 25th-round pick is hitting .322/.417/.460 in 25 games this season.

Northwest League
Stephen McQuail, Vancouver
.316/.409/1.000, 6 G, 6-for-19, 2B, 4 HR, 6 RBI, 4 R, 2 BB, 9 K
The Blue Jays' 30th-round pick out of Canisius (N.Y.) College last year, McQuail is on a 10-game hitting streak and leads the Northwest League with nine homers. Four of the longballs came this week as the Canadians won five of six games. McQuail's solo shot on Sunday provided all the scoring in Vancouver's 1-0 win over visiting Boise. After going deep six times in 50 games for Auburn in Class A Short-Season New York-Penn League last season, he's hit nine round-trippers in just 26 games this year.

Appalachian League
Cameron Seitzer, Princeton

Seitzer had at least two hits in four of his five games this week, including a three-double, three-RBI performance against Burlington on Thursday. An 11th-round pick out of the University of Oklahoma in last month's Draft, Seitzer is hitting .358/.447/.605 with 20 RBIs in his first 23 games as a pro. The P-Rays trail first-place Bluefield by one game in the Appy League's East Division.

Pioneer League
Nick Ramirez, Helena

Though just 17 games into his pro career, Brewers fourth-round pick Nick Ramirez seems to be extremely comfortable with his new wood bat. The Cal State-Fullerton product has collected at least two hits in six of his last seven games and scored at least two runs in four of his last five. Three of his four career homers came this week and he went deep in both games at Casper this weekend. Ramirez's .364 average and .597 slugging percentage both lead the Brewers.
