This is the 31-year-old Suomi's 12th season in the Minors, though only twice has he played more than 70 games in a campaign, most recently in 2006. Nor has the career .265/.325/.405 hitter ever quite mashed the ball like this -- after five consecutive multi-hit games this week, the veteran backstop is batting .361 for the IronPigs in 2012. Suomi went 4-for-5 with a homer, double and three RBIs at Gwinnett on Monday (his first game in seven days), then drove in four more runs on Thursday before collecting a pair of hits in both ends of Saturday's doubleheader split with Pawtucket.

Pacific Coast League
Moises Sierra, Las Vegas

Sierra, the Blue Jays' No. 19 prospect, had multiple hits in five of his six games this week and on Friday posted the PCL's first three-homer performance of the season. The 23-year-old outfielder went 4-for-4 with another longball, a double and two RBIs on Saturday before adding two more hits on Sunday. Sierra is hitting .393 with runners in scoring position on the season and has twice as many homers in three June games as he had in 27 May contests.

Eastern League
Bryce Brentz, Portland

The Middle Tennessee product adds an EL Player of the Week award to the South Atlantic and Carolina League honors he earned last season. After a slow start to his Double-A career -- he hit .216 with one homer in April -- Brentz terrorized the Eastern League in May, hitting .388/.439/.633 with five longballs. This week was highlighted by the outfielder's second 5-for-5 performance of the month against Harrisburg on Thursday afternoon. MLB.com's No. 58 prospect, the 23-year-old Brentz ranks ninth in the EL in batting at .306 and eighth in slugging with a .490 mark.

Southern League
Nick Franklin, Jackson

The 21-year-old Franklin is following through on the promise that's made him MLB.com's No. 46 prospect. The shortstop leads the Southern League in batting (.345) and slugging (.560) while ranking third in on-base percentage at .410. A first-round pick (27th overall) in 2009, Franklin wrapped up his week with a homer and three RBIs on both Saturday and Sunday, the latter the third 4-for-4 performance in his last 16 games. He heads into the new week having reached base in each of his last seven plate appearances.

Texas League
Mike Olt, Frisco

After a fine 2011 campaign, Olt (the No. 37 prospect) made a name for himself in the Arizona Fall League with 13 home runs in 27 games -- only one other player had half as many. The 23-year-old Connecticut product, who is considered the finest defensive third baseman in the Rangers system, had a solid April, an impressive May and is now three games into a mind-boggling June. Olt concluded the week with five straight multi-hit games, including three consecutive two-homer contests over the weekend. Setting aside Wil Myers, whose .343 batting average will soon be ineligible after his departure for Triple-A, Olt now leads the Texas League in all three Triple Crown categories.

California League
Michael Pericht, Rancho Cucamonga

One of two catchers on the Quakes squad, Pericht has seen limited playing time this season, but made the most of his chances -- he's tied for the club lead with nine homers and ranks third with 24 RBIs while playing in 27 of Rancho Cucamonga's 57 games. After a pair of two-hit games earlier in the week, the 24-year-old Pericht went 4-for-4 with two homers, a double and six RBIs in the Quakes' 7-6 loss to Inland Empire on Friday. He followed up with a solo homer and single on Saturday and two more hits on Sunday. With nine longballs on the season, Pericht is just two shy of his total for the entire 2011 campaign.

Carolina League
Travis Shaw, Salem

With Shaw and teammate Jackie Bradley atop the Carolina League's list of batting leaders, the Salem Sox boast the circuit's top hitting numbers and rank second to Winston-Salem in runs scored. This week was Shaw's turn to shine. The 22-year-old third baseman homered twice and drove in three runs at first-place Lynchburg on Wednesday, then added a three-run shot against the Hillcats on Thursday. Shaw went deep again and doubled twice on Sunday as Salem trounced Myrtle Beach, 12-1, to draw within 1 1/2 games of Winston-Salem for the Southern Division lead.

Florida State League
Oswaldo Arcia, Fort Myers
(.571/.640/1.048, 6 G, 12-for-21, 1 2B, 3 HR, 7 RBI, 5 R, 4 BB, 2 K, 1 CS)
The Venezuelan-born Arcia is in his fourth Minor League season -- and second with the Miracle -- despite having just turned 21 last month. The Twins' No. 4 prospect, Arcia has stepped up his game, raising his batting average 67 points and on-base percentage 88 points above his FSL stint last year. He had hits in each of his six games this week, including a pair of four-hit performances, and went deep on both Saturday and Sunday against Daytona. Arcia ranks fourth in the league in hitting and second in both slugging and OPS.

Midwest League
Eugenio Suarez, West Michigan

Suarez had at least two hits in six of his seven games this week, including four-hit outings on both Friday and Sunday. The 20-year-old shortstop has scored eight times in his last three games and now ranks third in the Midwest League in both runs scored and on-base percentage, while his 19 doubles are one short of the circuit lead. With Suarez getting on and around the bases, the Whitecaps took six of seven games this week and improved to 15-13 on the road this season.

South Atlantic League
Gary Sanchez, Charleston

Sanchez has had his ups and downs since signing with the Yankees as a 16-year-old in 2009, but this week was definitely an up for the No. 47 prospect. Now in his second full season and still just 19 years old, Sanchez homered, doubled twice and drove in a career-high seven runs in Charleston's 19-6 rout of Asheville on Tuesday, then went deep twice and collected five more RBIs at Greenville on Thursday. The surge, which included five more hits in three games over the weekend, lifted Sanchez's line to .368/.415/.632 in 21 road games this season.
