Offensive Players of the Week

International League
Brent Clevlen, Toledo
.400 (6-15), 6 R, 0 2B, 0 3B, 3 HR, 5 RBI, 1 BB, 3 SO, 1 SB, 1.000 SLG
For a player who's already enjoyed a stint in the Major Leagues, Clevlen is making a good case for the Tigers to bring him back up. The 6-foot-2 outfielder belted three home runs last week -- including two in one game Thursday against Pawtucket. He topped things off with another roundtripper Sunday in the ninth inning against the PawSox. He now has 17 homers on the season.

Pacific Coast League
Wladimir Balentien, Tacoma
.563 (9-16), 9 R, 0 2B, 0 3B, 4 HR, 8 RBI, 5 BB, 1 SO, 1 SB, 1.313 SLG
Like Clevlen, Balentien has also spent a significant amount of time in the Majors this season and his performance last week should only encourage the Mariners to give him another shot. The 6-foot-2 outfielder has homered in four consecutive games and in each of those games he had two RBIs and scored a total of nine runs during the run. It's the first time this season Balentien has homered in back-to-back contests -- let alone four.

Eastern League
Austin Jackson, Trenton
.643 (9-14), 5 R, 3 2B, 0 3B, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 2 BB, 1 SO, 1 SB, 1.071 SLG
Jackson has consistently been the premier player in Double-A Trenton this season and last week he didn't disappoint. The smooth-swinging outfielder is currently on a seven-game hitting streak which includes a four-hit performance Thursday against Portland. Though he only knocked in two runs, he did belt four doubles, consistently getting himself in scoring position to fuel Trenton's 4-0 week.

Southern League
Gaby Sanchez, Carolina
.579 (11-19), 6 R, 2 2B, 0 3B, 3 HR, 9 RBI, 4 BB, 1 SO, 0 SB, 1.158 SLG
Sanchez finished the week on a nine-game hitting streak, highlighted by a two-homer game Wednesday against Mississippi. In that 8-0 victory, he recorded five RBIs and scored twice. The 6-foot-2 first baseman has 61 RBIs on the season and boasts a .327 average through 96 games. He's also walked more times than he's struck out this season (52 BB's and 51 K's).

Texas League
Brian Stavisky, Arkansas Travelers
.560 (14-25), 7 R, 1 2B, 0 3B, 2 HR, 8 RBI, 4 BB, 4 SO, 1 SB, .840 SLG
Five of Stavisky's six games in which he hit safely were multi-hit performances. His solo home run in the sixth inning was Arkansas' lone run in Saturday's 13-1 loss to Tulsa. He now has nine homers on the season and is maintaining a .339 average through 47 games. He's also stolen 10 bases for the Travelers.

California League
Zak Farkes, Lancaster
.579 (11-19), 7 R, 3 2B, 0 3B, 3 HR, 9 RBI, 3 BB, 1 SO, 0 SB, 1.211 SLG
Farkes closed the week on a five-game hitting streak and worked wonders for his power numbers last week. He belted three home runs in three separate games to double his season total. He's also on a five-game RBI streak, notching nine last week, including three in Thursday's game against San Jose. The 5-foot-11 third baseman has 31 RBIs and is hitting .264 through 62 games.

Carolina League
Brad Correll, Wilmington
.455 (10-22), 7 R, 3 2B, 0 3B, 3 HR, 8 RBI, 5 BB, 3 SO, 0 SB, 1.000 SLG
Since making his Carolina League debut on July 4, the 6-foot-2 first baseman has hit safely in 12 of 15 games, including his last 11 in a row. Last week, he notched three multi-hit games and capped his scorching stretch with a two-homer, six-RBI performance in an 11-2 win Sunday against Lynchburg. He's hitting .357 and has an on-base percentage of .438 through 15 games.

Florida State League
Brian Dopirak, Dunedin
.368 (7-19), 4 R, 1 2B, 0 3B, 4 HR, 14 RBI, 1 BB, 6 SO, 0 SB, 1.053 SLG
The power-hitting first baseman continued his assault on the Florida State League, mashing four more roundtrippers last week to up his season total to 21. His power surge catapulted him to the league lead in home runs and his 14 RBIs (five on Sunday and four on Saturday) helped him to the top of the league in that category as well. It's the third time this year he's homered in back-to-back games.

Midwest League
Brandon Douglas, West Michigan
.619 (13-21), 5 R, 3 2B, 0 3B, 1 HR, 6 RBI, 1 BB, 2 SO, 0 SB, .905 SLG
Douglas began the year in the GCL, then moved to Short-Season ball before making his Midwest League debut this week. The quick-moving shortstop has yet to disappoint at the higher level, notching 13 hits in his first 21 at-bats, including three doubles and a home run. He compiled a four-hit game Thursday and has hit safely in all five contests.

South Atlantic League
Frederick Freeman, Rome
.520 (13-25), 6 R, 3 2B, 0 3B, 2 HR, 7 RBI, 3 BB, 4 SO, 1 SB, .880 SLG
Though he had his 17-game hitting streak snapped Saturday, Freeman still pieced together an impressive week, sealing Rome's victory over Lexington on Wednesday with a two-run home run in the eighth inning and helping his team run away with one, belting a homer against West Virginia on Sunday.

Appalachian League
Curt Smith, Johnson City
.520 (13-25), 6 R, 2 2B, 0 3B, 2 HR, 9 RBI, 3 BB, 3 SO, 1 SB, .840 SLG
Smith saw his 13-game hitting streak come to an end Friday, but still enjoyed a career week, mashing 13 hits in six games, two of which left the yard. Three of the five games in which he hit safely were three-hit performances -- including two doubles Thursday against Bristol.

New York-Penn League
Brian Baisley, Staten Island
.550 (11-20), 3 R, 2 2B, 0 3B, 2 HR, 7 RBI, 1 BB, 3 SO, 0 SB, .950 SLG
Another player of the week, another hitting streak snapped -- this time at seven games. Regardless, the 6-foot-3 first baseman slugged his first two home runs of the season on Wednesday and Friday. He's on a five-game RBI streak, upping his season total to 14 through 19 games. Both of his homers last week came with a man on base.

Northwest League
Andrew Rundle, Boise
.526 (10-19), 9 R, 2 2B, 3 3B, 2 HR, 7 RBI, 3 BB, 6 SO, 2 SB, 1.263 SLG
Everybody's losing their hitting streaks and Rundle is no exception. He had his seven-game streak snapped, but had arguably the most complete week of any Player of the Week recording two doubles, three triples and two homers. He upped his OPS to 1.176 on the season and has scored 14 runs through 15 games in the NWL.

Pioneer League
Tony Brown, Billings
.455 (10-22), 9 R, 2 2B, 0 3B, 2 HR, 9 RBI, 3 BB, 5 SO, 1 SB, .818 SLG
Brown has hit safely in 13 of his last 14 games and carries a nine-game hitting streak into the sixth week of the season. He notched three multi-hit games last week and knocked in a team-high nine RBIs, giving him 25 on the season. His two homers this week gave him eight on the season -- tops in the Pioneer League. The 6-foot left fielder is hitting .327 with an OBP of .405 an OPS of 1.012.
