Offensive Players of the Week

International League
Chris Richard, Durham

Outfielder Chris Richard went a perfect 3-for-3 on Tuesday, but that was hardly the highlight of his week. On Friday, the slugger became the first International League player in more than 50 years to hit two grand slams in one game. Thanks partly to his Friday performance, he collected a third of his season total in homers and nearly half his RBI output. The 2008 International League midseason All-Star struggled at the beginning of the year, consistently batting below .200, but has raised his average to .281 with the recent hot streak.

Pacific Coast League
Jake Fox, Iowa
.556 (15-27), 11 R, 4 2B, 1 3B, 4 HR, 14 RBI, 6 BB, 2 SO, 0 SB, 1.222 SLG
Cubs prospect Jake Fox has been one of the Minors' top hitters all year, and this past week was no exception. The left fielder -- who was also named PCL Player of the Week on April 19 -- had an impressive week even by his standards, hitting above .300 in every game. His strongest effort came May 12, when he homered twice and plated five runs. Fox leads the Minors in a handful of offensive categories including batting average, home runs, RBIs, total bases, slugging percentage and runs scored.

Eastern League
Nick Weglarz, Akron
.458 (11-24), 6 R, 3 2B, 0 3B, 1 HR, 8 RBI, 7 BB, 3 SO, 0 SB
After a shaky April in which his batting average spent most of its time below the century mark, it seems outfielder Nick Weglarz has finally found his groove. The Indians' third-round pick in the June 2005 Draft lifted has average from .192 to a respectable .248 with his .458 average this week.

Southern League
J.C. Boscan, Mississippi
.550 (11-20), 2 R, 4 2B, 0 3B, 0 HR, 10 RBI, 1 BB, 4 SO, 0 SB
The Braves have had catcher J.C. Boscan splitting time between Double-A Mississippi and Triple-A Gwinnett this season. He was very successful at the plate this week after returning to Double-A on Monday. Boscan batted .500 or above in all five appearances this week, combining to go 11-20 with four doubles, 10 RBIs and two runs scored. He's batting .250 in 13 games for Gwinnett, but .500 in 10 contests with Mississippi.

Texas League
Peter Bourjos, Arkansas
.462 (12-26), 6 R, 1 2B, 1 3B, 1 HR, 4 RBI, 1 BB, 4 SO, 1 SB
Speedy Angels prospect Peter Bourjos highlighted his red-hot week by going 4-for-5 with a home run -- his first of the year-- and three RBIs against Tulsa on May 15. The outfielder also picked up his league-leading fifth triple of the year on Tuesday against Springfield.

California League
Brad Chalk, Lake Elsinore
.400 (10-25), 4 R, 1 2B, 2 3B, 0 HR, 4 RBI, 4 BB, 6 SO, 4 SB, .600 SLG
Brad Chalk, the Storm's leadoff hitter, has certainly been starting things off right for his team. The Padres prospect, who is batting .315, showed off his speed this week, legging out triples in back-to-back games and swiping four bases. His ability to get on base and advance wasn't in vain either. The outfielder led the league with seven runs scored this past week.

Carolina League
Jason Heyward, Myrtle Beach
.316 (6-19), 4 R, 1 2B, 0 3B, 3 HR, 5 RBI, 5 BB, 1 SO, 1 SB, .842 SLG
Jason Heyward, who ranks third on MLB.com's Top 50 Prospects list, has had a solid year in his first Class A Advanced season thus far, but he gave a little extra this week. The outfielder went a perfect 3-for-3 against Frederick, including a home run and a double. The following day he went 1-for-2, hit a solo homer, walked three times and stole a base. His three homers on the week resulted in a league-leading .842 slugging percentage.

Florida State League
Ben Revere, Fort Myers
.625 (10-16), 5 R, 1 2B, 1 3B, 0 HR, 2 RBI, 2 BB, 1 SO, 1 SB, .813 SLG
Center fielder Ben Revere, who made headlines last year when he carried a .400 batting average through much of the season with Beloit, continued his brilliance at the plate with four-straight multiple-hit outings for the Fort Myers Miracle. The Twins' first-round pick in the 2007 Draft isn't that far off again this year as he's batting .346 on the season.

Midwest League
Rob Bourquin, West Michigan
.522 (12-23), 7 R, 4 2B, 0 3B, 2 HR, 8 RBI, 1 BB,7 SO, 0 SB, .957 SLG
Tigers prospect Rob Bourquin spent his week either scoring runs or driving them in. The second-round pick by the Detroit Tigers in the June 2006 Draft scored at least two runs in his last three games, and notched at least one RBI in his final four games of the week -- all of which were victories for the Whitecaps.

South Atlantic League
Derek Norris, Hagerstown
.565 (13-23), 9 R, 3 2B, 0 3B, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 4 BB, 3 SO, 0 SB, .826 SLG
Derek Norris, the Nationals' fourth-round pick in the 2007 Draft, got on base at least twice in every game last week and therefore managed to give the Suns a league-leading nine runs scored last week. He also saw his batting average hit .300 for the first time since April 21 and then continued to pump it up to .330 by the end of the week. After going 3-for-5 at Greensboro May 15, he turned in a perfect 3-for-3 the next day, adding a walk and scoring three times.
