Open house set for April 3

Fans get chance at guided tours, discounted gear
March 29, 2010
FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Fans who can't wait for Opening Day at Parkview Field can get a sneak peek five days ahead of time. The TinCaps will start the grills and open the gates for an open house on Saturday, April 3, from noon until 4 p.m. Admission is free!

"We'll take the fans into areas they might not otherwise get to go," TinCaps president Mike Nutter said. "It's a great opportunity for people to go behind the scenes and to check out some of the new aspects of Parkview Field."

Fans can take guided tours, visiting the TinCaps' clubhouse, spots close to the field and other areas normally not available to the public.

The open house will serve as a training session for the TinCaps' food and beverage staff, which will fire up the grills for the first time this year. All items on an abbreviated menu will be priced at $1 while supplies last. No alcoholic beverages will be served, but soft drinks will be available.

The Orchard Team Store will be open, offering throwback items and discounted merchandise. It will also be the first opportunity for fans to purchase the 2010 line of TinCaps gear. In addition, the Parkview Field Kids' Zone is slated to be up and running. Young fans can play games at no charge.

TinCaps tickets, group outings and picnics for the 2010 season are on sale now. For more information, call (260) 482-6400.
