Opening Day Doubleheader headlines 2011!
The Mud Hens will open the 144-game season on the road at Louisville on Thursday, April 7th with the home opener coming on Thursday, April 14th at Fifth Third Field.
**The home opener will be a doubleheader (two 7 inning games) with the first pitch scheduled for 4:00 pm. All nine Opening Day games at Fifth Third Field have been standing room only sell-out crowds. Individual tickets will go on sale at a later date. Guarantee a seat with a Ticket Package.
Mud Hens General Manager/President Joe Napoli said, "We are thrilled to introduce an Opening Day Doubleheader to the Toledo community. We hope to encourage even more people to come to Downtown Toledo to celebrate what has become an annual tradition."
The Hens' opening homestand will be a three-game series versus the Columbus Clippers (Cleveland Indians Triple-A affiliate). After a three-game series in Columbus, the Hens return home for a seven-game homestand from April 19-25 versus the other two teams in their division, the Indianapolis Indians & Louisville Bats.
The Hens' first 19 games of the 2011 season are against divisional opponents. The Hens travel to Syracuse Chiefs on April 26th, marking the first game against a non-divisional foe.
The 2011 season will mark the 25th consecutive season as the Triple-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers, as well as the 10th season of play at Fifth Third Field.
