OPENING DAY THURSDAY, APRIL 12: Baseball, Live Music, $1 Beer, Fireworks & more!

WHITAKER BANK BALLPARK (Lexington, KY) The Lexington Legends will open their 12th season Thursday, April 12 at Whitaker Bank Ballpark, and the fun will include baseball and much more.

The Legends, a class A affiliate of the Houston Astros, will play the Kannapolis Intimidators, a Chicago White Sox affiliate, at 7:05 p.m. Gates will open at 5 p.m., and fans can enjoy live music from the Chris Campbell Band both before and after the game.

The April 12 game will be the first of nine "Thirsty Thursdays," presented by Urban Active, at which beer and Pepsi products will be available for one dollar each.

Following the game, fans can remain in their seats and enjoy the first of 15 Ford fireworks shows that will follow Legends games this season.

"Opening Day is our favorite day of the year, and we can't wait to kick off the 2012 season in style," said Legends general manager Seth Poteat. "From the post-game fireworks to the new and improved kids area, from the live music pre and post-game to the $1 beverages, we feel we've got something for everyone, and it's sure to be a blast! And I haven't even mentioned the ballgame itself!"
