Opening Night features $2 Miller beers!

Season-opening homestand packed with promotions, giveaways

The River Cats season-opening homestand will feature plenty of excitement as Sacramento begins its quest for a fifth Pacific Coast League Championship.

The season kicks off Thursday, April 7, with an Opening Night celebration featuring full team lineups and a surprise entrance from Dinger as Sacramento takes on the Tacoma Rainiers (Seattle Mariners affiliate). Tacoma knocked out Sacramento from last season's playoffs in a hard-fought five-game series. The River Cats will play the Rainiers from April 7-10, and then conclude the opening homestand with four games against Las Vegas (April 11-14).

Fans purchasing tickets at the Raley Field Ticket Office leading up to Opening Night (Thursday, April 7) should park in Lot C-1 on Riske Lane.

Thursday, April 7 (7:05 p.m.), vs. Tacoma Rainiers - Miller Lite Thirsty Thursday ($2 Miller beers and live music in Jackson Rancheria Home Run Terrace); 2011 Schedule Cling Giveaway presented by Raley's & Bel-Air (first 7,500 fans)

Friday, April 8 (7:05 p.m.), vs. Tacoma Rainiers - Toyota Family Value Fridays ($1 hot dogs and $1 desserts)

Saturday, April 9 (7:05 p.m.), vs. Tacoma Rainiers - Opening Weekend Sutter Health Postgame Fireworks; KCRA Thundersticks Giveaway (first 2,500 fans)

Sunday, April 10 (1:05 p.m.), vs. Tacoma Rainiers - Team poster Giveaway (first 2,500 fans); The Sacramento Bee Reading Tree (A River Cats celebrity will read to children from 12:15-12:30 p.m. on right field lawn); U.S. Bank Sunday Funday (pregame autographs and kids run bases postgame).

Monday, April 11 (7:05 p.m.), vs. Las Vegas 51s - Seniors Eat Free Mondays presented by Eskaton (Seniors eat free with free Silver Cats Club membership); Baseball Bingo

Tuesday, April 12 (7:05 p.m.), vs. Las Vegas 51s - Kids Eat Free Tuesdays presented by California Family Fitness (Kids eat free with membership in the free Dinger's Kids Club presented by Raley's & Bel-Air; Pin Trading Night (River Cats host four Pin Trading Nights throughout the 2011 season, during which the first 2,500 fans through the gate will receive one of four collectible River Cats pins.)

Thursday, April 14 (7:05 p.m.), vs. Las Vegas 51s - Greek Night Toga Party (Toga ... Toga ... Toga ... Wear your toga out to ballpark and join a toga party in Foul Ball Patio.
