Owings working on shoulder strength

Righty hasn't started for Triple-A Tucson since Dunn deal
August 27, 2008
SAN DIEGO -- Micah Owings has disappeared from view in the past couple of weeks, but the right-hander is still a part of the D-backs' organization.

At least for now.

It was widely reported that Owings was one of the two players to be named later in the deal that brought outfielder Adam Dunn from Cincinnati to Arizona earlier this month, but neither team has confirmed that.

Owings was scratched from a Triple-A start right after the deal was completed with what the club said was stiffness in his shoulder.

Since that time, Owings has not started for the Sidewinders and is instead working on strengthening his shoulder with the organization's medical coordinator and is on a throwing program at the club's Minor League complex in Tucson, Ariz.
