Owlz Name New General Manager

October 6, 2011

The Orem Owlz announced Monday that Brett Crane has been named General Manager.

Crane will be assuming the duties of Jason Badell, who is leaving the Owlz to start his own Sports Marketing Company.

Brett has spent the past 4 years working in the Owlz front office as the Assistant General Manager, and Director of Baseball Operations, and has been working in Minor League Baseball for the past 11 years. At age 26 he becomes one of the youngest General Managers in all of Minor League Baseball.

"Brett has earned this spot, rising himself up from the mailroom. No one is better equipped to take the Owlz to the next level. Brett has handled all aspects of all operations for the Owlz over the past several years - I couldn't be happier with anyone but Brett to be at the helm of the club," says Jeff Katofsky, majority owner of the club.

Prior to re-joining the Owlz franchise at the conclusion of the 2007 season, Crane spent two seasons working for the Salt Lake Bees, and five seasons working with the Orem Owlz and Provo Angels franchise. The Springville, UT native and his wife, Kami currently reside in Spanish Fork.
