P-Nats walk off with another win

Lyons singles home Whiting in 10th inning for 2-0 lead

Dan Lyons singled home Boomer Whiting in the bottom of the 10th on Thursday to give the Potomac Nationals their second straight extra-winning win over the Wilmington Blue Rocks, 3-2, and a 2-0 lead in their first-round series.

With one out in the 10th, Jhonatan Solano singled and was replaced by Whiting, who also scored the winning run in Potomac's 15-inning victory in Game 1. Whiting stole second and raced home on Lyons' base hit to center field.

Andrew Lafave and Francisco Plasencia collected three hits apiece for the Nationals.

Clint Everts (1-0) allowed one hit over two scoreless innings to pick up the win.

Tyler Chambliss (0-1) yielded one run on three hits and a walk with one strikeout in 1 1/3 innings for Wilmington, which hosts Game 3 on Friday. Box score
