Surprise 5, Salt River 4

Red Sox prospect Michael Almanzar drove in a pair of runs and Brian Fletcher (Royals) added two more on a base hit in the top of the ninth as Surprise held on to defeat Salt River. The Saguaros plated runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings with Cardinals' top infield prospect Kolten Wong driving in the team's second run on a line-drive double into the left-field gap. D-backs' No. 4 prospect Matt Davidson and Jake Marisnick (Blue Jays) both homered off Saguaros reliever Ryan Pressly (Red Sox) in the bottom of the ninth to cut the deficit to one, but Pressly settled down and stuck out Chris Owings -- Arizona's fifth-ranked prospect -- on three pitches to preserve the win.
