Pahuta and Roark Lead the Senators to 2-1 Win

Two runs in the second inning were all the Harrisburg Senators needed to defeat the New Hampshire Fisher Cats 2-1 in a Saturday matinee. The win was their seventh straight, all on the road and they swept back-to-back road series.

All of the Senators' offense came in the second inning. Tim Pahuta hit his 13th home run of the season to give the Senators the early lead. With two outs in the inning, Leonard Davis singled and Devin Ivany followed with a double to score Davis to bring the score to 2-0. The Sens did not have another base runner for the remainder of the game.

Senators' starter, Tanner Roark (9-8, 4.75), pitched seven strong innings giving up one run on five hits. He left after walking Anthony Gose leading off the eighth. However, Cory VanAllen came on and promptly picked off Gose. With two outs, Moises Sierra singled off VanAllen and the Senators went to the bullpen again with Rafael Martin summoned. He went to 0-2 on Travis d'Arnaud before picking off Sierra to end the inning.

Hassan Pena pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn his 10th save on the season, stranding the tying and winning runs on base.

Harrisburg improves to 77-57 on the season as they began the day 4.0 games ahead of the Bowie Baysox and 5.5 games over the Richmond Flying Squirrels in the Western Division. The magic number for the Senators to clinch a playoff spot is now 4, which is any combination of Senators' wins and Richmond losses. The earliest the Senators can clinch is Monday night.

The Senators head home to Harrisburg to weather out the storm and prepare for an eight-game homestand beginning Monday night.
