Giants prospect goes 3-for-3, steals a base, scores twice

Joe Panik, the Giants' No. 6 prospect, went 3-for-3 with a stolen base, two runs scored and an RBI as the Scorpions won their fourth straight. Yankees' No. 5 prospect Slade Heathcott drove in a pair of runs for Scottsdale, which got five strong innings from Chris Gloor and moved into first place in the East Division. Surprise 16, Mesa 10

Luis Sardinas, the Rangers' No. 7 prospect, homered and drove in four runs as Surprise won a slugfest against the Solar Sox. The Saguaros scored seven runs in each of the first two innings to build an early 14-4 lead, then held off a late charge led by Javier Baez. The Cubs' top prospect slugged a three-run homer in the eighth and leads the Fall League with 12 RBIs. Every Surprise position player scored a run, with Whit Merrifield (Royals) crossing the plate three times and Dustin Lawley (Mets) and Mike O'Neill (Cardinals) collecting three RBIs apiece. In another high-scoring affair, the Desert Dogs overcame a seven-run deficit and beat the Javelinas on a walk-off single by A's catching prospect Max Stassi. Brewers prospect Josh Prince led the way for Phoenix, going 3-for-3 with three RBIs and scoring the winning run. Home runs by Stefen Romero (Mariners) and Padres' top prospect Rymer Liriano helped Peoria build an 11-4 advantage through four innings before the Desert Dogs scored eight unanswered runs.
