Park, Zephyrs two-hit Sounds

Chan Ho Park and a reliever combined on a two-hit shutout as visiting New Orleans edged Nashville, 1-0, to sweep Sunday's doubleheader.

Park (1-0) surrendered two hits while fanning six and walking one in six innings. The former National League All-Star went 7-7 with a 4.81 ERA in 136 2/3 innings for the San Diego Padres last year.

On March 30, Park was sent down to New Orleans by the Mets. He told MLB.com at that time he preferred to be there than in New York as a reliever.

"I tried [relieving], and the last couple of times, I wasn't comfortable in that role," he said. "Last year was last year. It's a matter now of how I can prepare to help [as a starter]."

Reliever Ivan Maldonado walked Andy Abad to open the seventh, but retired the next three batters to earn his first save.

The Zephyrs (3-1) plated their run in the third when second baseman Anderson Hernandez doubled and scored on Carlos Gomez's single to right field.

Chris Oxspring (0-1) was the hard-luck loser, yielding one run on four hits while walking two and fanning four over five frames.

Drew Anderson and Joe Dillon each went 1-for-3 for the Sounds (1-3).
